Spendywendywoo said:Just caught up over the last few weeks...wow! You have had so much going on! Firstly, congrats on your weightloss awards, PADs and car payments - phenomenal progress in all areas. Sorry to hear about Little JWil's arm, I am glad the op went well and school are being supportive. I also hope all went ok today and you were also able to relax a little this afternoon.
You're an inspiration in so many ways, sending a virtual hug and a very loud high 5 x

I think the impact on your budget will be felt more than usual months as you haven't had time to think as you have been here there and everywhere and fire fighting. Hopefully little jwil arm isn't too sore after his op and heals well. Hope the apt went okay and good luck in your presentation"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". I'm very glad this week is over. It's the first evening I've not got a head full of 'noise'.
Little jwil went back to school today, all went ok, and the promised support was in place thankfully. I dropped him to school and picked him up, and will probably continue to do that when I can until he's got the full cast.
Little miss's appointment went well, she has a diagnosis of both autism and adhd. I need to have some time to think it through and understand everything, but don't think anything needs to change at this point, I think she's more likely to need support as she moves to secondary school. We went to a cafe after the appointment before I dropped her back to school, and that was nice.
My presentation went well, and several people complimented me on the way I delivered it and handled the questions despite it being a topic that was unpopular with many of the audience.
DH's car is back in the garage tomorrow, so I think I'm going to drop him to work and pick him up rather than let him have my car. I will then be able to drop little jwil to school again, and also get some shopping as I didn't arrange my delivery this week. DH and I are off to a funeral in the afternoon, so that will be the day off gone!
Saturday, apart from SW, I don't want to do anything! I've got so much I want to be doing around the house. Sunday I'm going to a literary festival event which I'm really looking forward to. It's the sort of thing I've been interested in doing for years but have never really had the confidence to go. Now that the kids are older, I'm enjoying getting a bit of a life back again.
I really need to go back through my finances and have a good look at it all, and also where I will be in terms of my early retirement plans. I am struggling with having added the car debt, but I do really love the car, so it's been worth it overall. I think I just need to feel more like I am tackling it, which means looking to get some extra cash in. Time is, as ever, the issue. I did do a couple of token surveys today.

I keep thinking it's Sunday today as we are having a lazy day. I cooked at lunchtime so I don't have to later (and we will avoid the temptation of a takeaway!). I've also made myself a crustless quiche.
DH and little miss are full of cold, so another reason just to chill. Little jwil didn't go to school yesterday, he was just in a real state with everything. He's better again today though thankfully. I think we'll all be feeling more comfortable when he's got the full cast on. What's the betting that appointment comes through for the one day I am working in half term!
I still need to go through my finances again and see what I've been spending this month. I've agreed four afterschool clubs for little miss for the next half term - I want to keep encouraging her to try new things as she seemed to be losing her confidence last year.
I put on 3lb at SW this morning 😱 Not a surprise, as I knew last week's was over egged, and I have barely been on plan at all this week, with loads of chocolate and cake, and little exercise. I'm still at my 2st overall though so am pleased about that. I've read through all my books this morning and am getting back on track again from today. Actually it was quite interesting to go back through the books. At this point in the month every month I've had a gain or maintain, with the other weeks losing, so I reckon there may be a touch of hormones in there as well. I've been going 16 weeks now, so that 2st is equal to 1.75lb a week which is very respectable.
