I always worry about the things they tell people (usually women) to take.  My iron actually increased whilst I was pregnant so my doctor said not to, folic wasn't a thing back then.

I agree, I hate that 'wellness' has been so commodified and there's a hard sell on so many supplements.  When I was pregnant was the only time I've ever been low in iron, so needed it then, and the folic acid was also given on prescription.   If there's a medical or dietary reason then fair enough, but otherwise then as long as we eat a relatively varied diet we're probably getting everything we need.

Happy Saturday!  DH has a cold (hence his snoring the last couple of nights) so last night he slept on the sofa. I had the best night's sleep I'd had for months!  I was asleep before 9pm and slept straight through til after 3am.  I then got up for the loo and then had another couple of hours.  It was lovely!

I lost 1lb today which was a nice surprise.  That means last week's gain has gone and hopefully I can get back to properly losing.  I'm not there next week so need to not be complacent.

We then took my car on another jaunt and headed to the seaside.  I woke up this morning with a real fancy for a scone which is weird as they aren't really my thing.  So we had one while we were out and it was lovely.  The kids did a couple of rounds of crazy golf.  We're back for the afternoon now.

We now have a spare bedroom and love sleeping in the bed. It’s so comfortable and no snoring DH. Any excuse and Im in there.

Scones are my downfall. If we go into a cafe it’s what I usually order, has to be a fruit scone unless plain is the only option. Thankfully I can’t bake them otherwise I would b the size of a house.

If we ever win the lottery and buy a bigger house, we will definitely have a bedroom each!   When we bought this sofa, top of my list was for it to be comfortable enough for either of us to sleep on, as there isn't anywhere else to go if one of us is disturbing the other.  It's great for now and again.  Our old sofa was so uncomfortable.

I don't very often go for scones, I'd normally have chocolate cake of some description   Definitely a fruit scone for me.

Hurrah for the good night's sleep  :)

It makes such a difference!  And my slippery crochet blanket stayed put too :D

Wow your PAD’s and car loan balance are looking great. And well done on losing 1lb. Everything is heading in the right direction.

I take vitamin D in the winter but no other supplements. I did once take a course of multivitamins and came out in a bright red rash. On further investigation it turned out it was an overdose of niacin. Turned out I had plenty of niacin in my body thank you very much and this was it being rejected. I think if you have a good balanced diet taking supplements is just expensive wee 😆

I was told that it’s best if you are considering taking any vitamin tablets, first speak to a pharmacist for advice, as sometimes they can do more harm than good. I know I have low iron which I found out whilst pregnant with my first child and every time I donate blood it can be hit or miss whether I can donate as it depends on my iron levels at the time, so I can take iron tablets safely.

Thank you :)  I'm pleased with progress this month.

That's exactly what my GP said about the supplements :D:D

Yes, I agree, particularly if you are taking any medication.
