My phone spies on me constantly so much so I don't have to search stuff it often just appears ready. I read a really interesting book once about why we no longer can pay attention and that covered the algorithms in phones and how savvy they are. Wowsers to the car repair cost. I can walk easily to the office, so that's not a problem, but I have to go out and about sometimes and that could be anywhere in the county. My colleagues are also scattered around the county, so whilst we try and car share where possible, it's not always possible as we come from different directions. Uber doesn't exist here sadly, and taxis aren't always easy to get either. I'd love it if there was a car club locally and I could just join up, but there isn't.LzzyIsGod said:I loathe cars and all their problems. A little survey pad today which makes a change. I'll have to focus on doing them if I need to pay a debt down!
Happy payday! I've done the money shuffle. Actually last month was pretty positive in terms of spending, but this month is not going to be the same!
I went out for a meal with a couple of friends last night, and it was lovely to catch up.
When DH got home from work we caught the bus into town, and walked down to the garage to try and get my car home. Paid the bill, and we couldn't get it started so we had to get it recovered back to the house. We couldn't use the breakdown co as it's the same fault, so we paid privately. They were really good though so at least that's done. We just need to sort scrapping it now. It's a shame as it was a good carbut I think it's the right decision.
We've been browsing cars, and I've set my budget. I've got two options, I could take a loan and top up with savings if necessary, or I could do a money transfer on a CC and also top up with savings. Both the loan and CC are reasonable interest rates, and I've been preapproved for the loan. The CC is an existing empty one so shouldn't be an issue. I'm leaning towards the CC as I feel like I can be more flexible with that and PAD away to my heart's content, but I could get more from the loan and then not wipe out my savings. I think I'll make the decision when I decide on what car I want and how much it is.
We're going to look at a few tomorrow, and one of them is electric. I always said my next car would be electric, but thought that would be a few more years in the future. I was surprised that there are several available in my budget, and not too old either. I'm not going to rush though, so will wait til I find the right one."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". I look forward to the car updates! I'm no expert so can't offer any advice sorry 🤣 although I do know on my loan the minimum overpayment is £10 whereas the CCs are as little as i want them to be.LBM Oct 24

Good luck with finding the right car at the right price for you x1

Good luck with the car search. I suppose with a credit card you can bounce it around on transfers and pay more or less depending on what else is going on.Jan 18 Joint debts 35,213

Sorry to here about the car saga, hope you manage to find another without too much hassle.
Another thought if you only need a car a couple of time a month for work could a hire car be an option?2
