Happy new car and happy weight in day.
I’mjumping on, I've had auto plug in hybrid cars for years now, love them. It’s soooooo cheap to run them vs petrol. Mines due in a few months and I’m going fully electric.I worked out I can do 40 miles for <£1 (that’s if I charge at peak times) I only put petrol in my car every few months, most of my day to day journeys are under the 40 miles.Sealed pot challenge 822

Another with an automatic car and I love it, I hate having to drive DH car as it's a manual and just takes so much effort2

I'll just have to try and figure out how to claim work mileage now without fuel receipts!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee2 -

For privately owned electric cars used for business, you can claim the standard HMRC Approved Mileage Allowance Payments (AMAPs): 45p per business mile for the first 10,000 miles in a tax year and 25p per business mile thereafter. If the electric vehicle is a company car, the Advisory Electricity Rate (AER) of 4p per mile is used, which is a tax-free amount to cover the cost of the electricity used
Don't know if HMRC website is different but probably worth checking.2 -

I've been trying to get myself organised today. I've SORNed my car, so hopefully I'll get a month's refund. I've updated my spending spreadsheet as well.
Looking at the costs of the new car, plus the costs relating to the breakdown/diagnostics/recovery etc for the old car then my PAD target is looking to be around £11,401. I'll update it properly once I've done the insurance, got final price for a 3 pin charging cable, and depending on whether there are any costs associated with sending the old car for scrap.
The challenge is on! I did some surveys today, and need to get back in the habit of doing them first thing when I get up. I've identified a couple of bits I can list as well."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Happy September!
Most of the bills have come out this morning, so I'm always glad to see the back of them. The funds for the car have landed so I can go ahead with that now which is a relief. I always have nagging doubts until they actually arrive. I'll get the insurance sorted now. DH has spoken to someone about scrapping the car so hopefully that will be gone soon.
I've caught up with surveys this morning, and done a 15 minute walk. I'll do some weights later.
DH sold a few items yesterday so they have been packed and posted. There's still a couple awaiting payment too.
I've started the month with a decent PAD due to some interest, cashback, and ebay money that I had forgotten to withdraw. I'm going to carry on with £1 (plus change) to my savings account, as this is what I use for pots, and it's taken a battering with school uniform etc, and then £1 plus any extras to the car each day.
I wanted to go on and submit meter readings this morning, and request a smart meter, but I can't get on to the website so I'll have to try later. I figure I probably need the smart meter before I can switch the tariff, but I'll have a look and see if I can do both at the same time.
Car dealer is supposed to be ringing me today with a price for the charging cable. I've priced up online, so will see how they compare."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee3 -
