Money Moral Dilemma: Should we ask our daughter and her boyfriend to start paying us rent?
Comments

Yes. And you should have discussed this issue before they started staying.0
-
Absolutely. Otherwise they end up not understanding the cost or the value of anything.0

Paying my own way was drummed into me since childhood. They should most definitely contribute and they should have offered before now. Maybe you have failed slightly by not teaching your daughter in this way - but it's not too late. Ask her and her partner to pay towards their keep, they both earn good salaries and anyone who has enough money left over to save is in a good financial situation.0

Like many I’m sad you’re having to ask her and her boyfriend to pay their way. But ask you must - not only for the money but also to make them not take you for granted. It’s what many children do however old they are but a reminder they need to think of you as well as themselves is definitely something you need to do.0

Tell them to pay some part of it, so it is all fair0
-
Yes, you have every right to ask her to pay, she's a grown adult, right? Not a child.0

I'm just wondering if this family had a joyful Christmas? No man is worth crawling on this earth.
