I'm banned until the 4th, strange how it never happens on FB or twitter.

I'm sure many companies that post competitions will see an overall drop in engagement in Instagram thanks to the daft restrictions the algorithms impose, sadly I doubt it will be enough to make any difference.

I’ve just got my 2nd ban!  It’s so crap, my feed is filled with competitions but I can’t enter them!

I comp, tag and share often, almost on a daily basis, but I've never known Instagram to be like this before. My main account is banned and my second/back-up account is also banned. I've had content removed - but not always told what - and stories removed, too. See pictures for gems of a reason. However, my account status has three green ticks and it telling me no content has been removed and I'm able to comment!! 🥴

I'm concerned I've double entered a giveaway because I don't know what has been removed or where I've entered. I don't want to cheat. That's not why I have more than one account. I'm using my name, linked to my Facebook and making it clear this, this and this are all me. But nothing is stopping anyone from reporting me. I don't know common a deletion is when you have multiple accounts but given how sensitive their automated system and spam detection is... 🤷🏼‍♀️

It's so frustrating because you can't contact anyone anywhere about it. There is a petition on Facebook to get the spam detection system altered but what good is that going to do? 

I'm looking for the comps on FB and/or X during advents now because I can't use Instagram. When I do I'm gone two tags later.

I'm so irritated, I've been banned from commenting again for 3 days, just as advents start.
I'm actually so gutted, I wish Instagram would sort this out it's ridiculous 😞

I messaged one of the companies yesterday to ask them to change their requirements to tag others and they seem to have taken it onboard. I have posted my wording below...if anyone wants to help with getting the message out to these companies then maybe we can get them to change how they are setting up their competitions to avoid the dreaded bans! 

Please could you consider removing the requirement to tag others in your giveaways please (particularly the advent ones)? so many people I know are getting Instagram bans because of it and it will mean the number of users who will be able to enter your competitions will drop! 

I also believe Meta are considering a change in their terms which will result in the brands getting bans for requiring this as it promotes "spamming", so by changing your requirements now you'll be ahead of the game and be more user friendly to your followers! ☺️

FatFace also responded to say that they will change theirs so don't be intimidated by the bigger companies...they only know the user experience if we tell them what is happening!
