Hi guys,
My brother received a PCN for parking without a valid ticket. He genuinely bought a ticket from the pay machine but still received this PCN due to ANPR. Naturally he didn’t retain his ticket after parking.

He sent off the newbies template and they responded saying his registration number was not recorded on the machine.
I’ll get him to request a SAR. He failed to identify who the landowner is based on the vague signage.
Is there anything else we should be doing until we receive a claims form?
TIA

TIA

Ignore them. There's no appeal worth trying.
Maybe he typed in his old/other car VRM?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Don't send an SAR until after a court claim is received.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister. All my screwdrivers are cordless."You're Safety Is My Primary Concern Dear" - Laks2

You don't request a SAR, you submit or send one but, as instructed above, not until Court claim received.4

So the claim form has finally come through from DCB Legal, issue date 28/03/25. I will suggest my brother submits a SAR, completes the AOS and puts his defence together, paying particular attention to paragraphs 2 and 3.0

No SAR yet, not until after the N180 has been submitted to the CNBC and to the lawyers
Get the AOS done online on MCOL ASAP
Yes draft the defence in that manner2 -

Question regarding the chain of events within paragraphs 2 and 3 of the defence template:
my brother paid cash for the ticket but cannot remember whether the machine required his registration number. Is it worth him stating this and suggesting the parking company review the CCTV at the time to verify that he paid and displayed a ticket from the machine?0 -
They have no CCTV. So no.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

So we are about to start drafting the defence. At this stage is it worth my brother (registered keeper) stating how the driver did indeed pay for a ticket which was displayed. The PPC have only sent time stamped images of his car driving in and driving out.0
