Parking fine during medical emergency

Hiya
I've received a parking fine from carparkers.co.uk for a 19 minute stay in a car park because I had to pull in somewhere to deal with my son having a hypo (diabetes) which is time sensitive. Before I found this forum I had submitted an appeal (which may not be the right thing to have done reading this) citing this, but obviously they have rejected this. What's the next thing I should do? Paying it seems wrong

Plan A in the newbies sticky thread in announcements, complain about the PCN to the Landowner and ask them to get it cancelled ASAP
Please use the side of a public road in future, not private property
Ps, Popla will state that the PCN was correctly issued, they cannot and don't consider mitigation3 -
So plan a, even though I've already submitted an appeal? I can email it of course, but have I not already admitted who the driver is or doesn't that matter?0
-
Cannot answer that because you have not said if both sides of the PCN complied with POFA or notMrPea said:So plan a, even though I've already submitted an appeal? I can email it of course, but have I not already admitted who the driver is or doesn't that matter?
We have not seen the appeal you submitted to Car parkers Anglia either , post an exact copy, verbatim
Its good if you have not named the driver , but if you have then its too late to change it if the PCN didn't comply with POFA
POFA compliance should have been checked before any subsequent actions
Plan A should have been done before the plan B appeal , plan B is always likely to be rejected, private parking companies don't usually consider mitigating circumstances ( Popla would be plan C. )
Clearly they rejected your appeal, so plan C would be next, if you had good appeal reasons ( not mitigation. )
Hence why only plan A can work2 -
I'm happy to concede that I've not done the right thing and may well just need to pay up. I foolishly hadn't found the forum before I went ahead and knee jerked:Gr1pr said:

Hello I'm writing to appeal as I didn't actually park for this time. For this trip I was dropping a few Scouts off who were walking along the beach - at the time I dropped them off my son (aged 12, who was one of the Scouts) had a diabetic hypo (which can very quickly lead to a medical emergency) as well, so I probably stopped for 5/10 mins longer than I should while I sorted him out and made sure he was safe before I left him. As I never actually parked, and dealing with a diabetic hypo is time sensitive so I had no choice, I'd like to appeal. I'm happy to answer any questions. Paul2 -
It is not a fine.
Picking up/dropping off is not parking, and neither is dealing with a medical emergency. The persuasive appeal case of Jopson v Homeguard applies.
The driver did nothing wrong, so nobody should be paying a penny to an unregulated private parking company.

Eh? Nobody pays that firm. Show us where in the NEWBIES thread does it say to pay? You will never be paying this.MrPea said:

Just ignore them.
Obviously tell them if you move house.
That is all.

Coupon-mad says to ignore them which is true as far as I'm aware but DON'T ignore any letters you get that actually come from a court if it gets that far.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Apart from dying in the car, this surely is as good as mitigation gets. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.1

I think that if you pop your clogs in the car, they can and will come after your estate if you were the keeper and their PCN was PoFA compliant.5

I emailed Plan A to their info email address over 2 weeks ago but haven't had a reply. I've just had a reminder letter saying the discounted rate has expired (although then appeal rejection letter said some time in December). Do I need to do anything now or just keep ignoring?0
