I sorry to hear you are unwell 🤒
How lovely to hear your OH is looking after you.
The top up shop was a good call.
I hope you make a speedy recovery 🤗

@Cherryfudge - those four grocery places in our area offer a limited range via Ju$teat - essentials - milk dairy eggs fruit veg & a couple of meal deals - 15 pound mimimum spend - it's not the cheapest way to shop as everything is marginally more than on their own websites but they do have mid-week deals which make it affordable and are handy when you just can't get out of the house easily. (and have forgotten something in the big shop!) The bonus is that the meal deals are half the cost of takeaway/delivery and hotter when it gets heated at home in your own oven! We bought a meal deal for four which does us for two dinners.
@Baileys_Babe - OH even turned the oven on to heat up once we knew the meal deal was on it's way - the most active he's been in the kitchen in months 🤣🤣🤣

That's worth knowing because those days do happen when no one is up to a trip out. I'll have to remember that tip.rtandon27 said:@Cherryfudge - those four grocery places in our area offer a limited range via Ju$teat - essentials - milk dairy eggs fruit veg & a couple of meal deals - 15 pound mimimum spend - it's not the cheapest way to shop as everything is marginally more than on their own websites but they do have mid-week deals which make it affordable and are handy when you just can't get out of the house easily. Great that your OH felt motivated to push himself to take the initiative.
I expect the change does him good, even if normally he wouldn't be expected to use his energy like this.

@Cherryfudge & @beanielou - to be honest I'm not yet feeling on the mend, but I'm not any worse which is good. Doc said if i'm not on the up by Sunday I can go in for an appt on Mon or Tues.
I did have to power through a LONG meeting on Teams this morning but for the first time ever, I was not suited and booted and had not a stich of make-up and was wearing my large at home glasses! - to be fair I had the camera off for most of it, but got suitable sympathy when they actually saw how sick I am! WFH & virtual meetings has it's up's and down's I must say - so on a brain break atm having a warm drink and a salty snack then back at it for another round.
OH was so exhausted by the exertion yesterday that he's been sleeping all morning in his chair while I was in the meeting. Either that or he's caught the bug I have!
ETA - an MSE footnote - 3 packages of after xmas sale returns are labelled and ready for tomorrow's RM pick up - another two packages to go. There are actually still two packages not yet opened, as they arrived while I was at work earlier this week. Everything ordered was actually on my shopping list which i am really happy about - so hoping that out of 7 pairs of work trousers ordered 2 will be suitable - so far one is perfect and has already been worn. I only shop twice a year, in the sales, as I find it the best way to find affordable work wear and not have the process take up too much room in the noggin. I keep an ongoing list of things I want/need and often it amounts to shoes for work, shoes for commute, boots for rain, boots for cold, trousers for work, blazer for work & exercise gear - usually the things that wear out as they are worn so often. I don't have a lot of any one thing, usually just buy quality goods that wash well and last about a year with constant use.4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! Sorry you're still struggling - I'm amazed you made it through a long meeting, but at least it shows your colleagues what you are dealing with and aren't bringing into the office.
I hope things pick up tomorrow.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Awww thanks @Cherryfudge - Friday was rough, Saturday was rougher but shortly after lunch today I started feeling a tiny bit better. Spent yesterday on the sofa under a blanket & had a few naps of a couple of hours each. This afternoon I did 'Pomodoro's' of activity & rest to get through as many chores as possible! I think that two whole days of home cooked food has also made a difference.4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! Just being so poorly must be taking a lot of energy - good that you are able to rest betweentimes. Keep pacing yourself as much as possible, I hope you can keep up the home cooked food. (Perhaps those gossipy ladies could be made use of, though not at the expense of your peace of mind).
Here's to an improvement every day of the coming week.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
