I'm amazed how few hospital packing lists there are to be found specifically for men online! Having scoured all kinds of support groups and web pages but not found any one that is to my liking, I thought I'd plop one here while it's fresh in my mind! You obviously know what you're doing with the hand cream/foot cream/lip balm. How about some lubricating eye drops? I always find aircon makes me feel as if my eyeballs have been sandpapered after a day or so.
For ear plugs, I've found the Loop ones are good on planes. Maybe also a cosy blanket/wrap as hospital bedding is not exactly comfy. Obviously for men it's clearly a blanket5 -
@beanielou - thanks for the tip about the gel - good idea! - the wipes are there, I just named them the way we do across the pond! (personal wipes & dettol wipes)
@greenbee - Agree 100% - I adore my l00ps - I've got a sleeping pair and the switch ones - I've also found headphones that have not just a noise cancelling setting to block out noise, but also ambient so that I can hear conversation all while not turning off the music - or better yet, in the absence of! - I did think of a blanket, but aren't most men furnaces? Mine is hot all the time - handy at the moment as I'm adament we are not turning the central heating just yet!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! ooh... hadn't seen the sleeping ones! I can't really justify them as I'm not travelling at the moment, and need to be able to hear the dog/cats telling me they need to get up when I'm at home. They would have been useful when my mum was here for weeks on end and listening to the radio all night though...4

Thanks for the list @rtandon27 I have taken note as I will no doubt be the one packing for FIL if the situation arises.
I've also added a list of all current medication both prescribed and OTC.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent
79.5 coupons rolled over 4/75.5 coupons spent - using for secondhand purchases

@greenbee - I have the 'old' version of the sleeping ones - think they were called quiet or quiet2 - the new ones look very tempting as I'm a side sleeper and they promise to be more comfortable! They are definitely pricey but they work! - for me blocking out OH's snoring, the barking dog at sunrise 3 houses over - or the bickering from the Plastic Grass neighbours is so very important for getting a good night's sleep! Oh the joys of learning to live in town after so many years spent in the country with a flock of sheep for neighbours!
@Baileys_Babe - woohoo I'm so glad that that list will be of use! - just for fun, I ran it through MrGPT who also suggested a list of medications - so will add it to the practical part of the list!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! I have just caught up. I am so sorry. Sending much love.
(Add a blanket to the list, the last few time me and mine have been in a hospital it has been cold at some point and the extra blanket provided thin and uninspiring, a blanket from home can be really important)
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!5
