It's really good to hear Mr RT has managed some solid food - good for morale as well as calories. It may be useful - if you haven't already - to look up how to fortify foods so each mouthful has extra calories. I hope and pray for another good day for him tomorrow.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

@Greying_Pilgrim - yes that is so true - the almost year I was on meal replacements, the only ones I wanted in the morning were the coffee ones, and then for lunch & dinner vanilla only - in the hospital they kept trying to give me berry or mixed fruit and I would not touch them - the reminded me of pepto bismol!
@greenbee - I had a long chat with the Clinical Nurse Specialist today about combining private and NHS - she was fully supportive, but did emphasis that I'd have to take on being the go-between as she would have no access to his private records - bunch of beurocratic BS tbh as I happen to know that if it gets uploaded at the GP, then the hospital can see it - of course given the amount of time my GP's rottweilers take to do anything, i'm more than happy to bypass them and will be scanning and sending this weekend. I feel like I'm working two jobs atm.
@Humdinger1 - thank-you for the supportive words sweetie - I very much appreciate them!
@Cherryfudge - I feel a bit like I'm getting my come-uppence atm wrt food - OH spent a year trying to cajole me to eat decent meals and all I wanted was kitkats and crisps. Atm he's partial to boiled potatoes and rice pudding - both of which I can't stand - we've had a good laugh over his foods of choice! I've also lost 3 pounds this week and it's not down to lack of food! I'm in munchy mode and eating a few things I probably shouldn't!
@Fortune_Smiles - Thanks for the hugs my dear - always lovely when you pop onto the forums - I hope your budgeting is going a bit easier now that you are back diarizing!
@Baileys_Babe - I absolutely adore how you phrased those words of support, not only is it wonderful to have a team, it's even nicer to walk the path with my tribe!
@maggiem - thank you for your well-wishes, I really to appreciate the support!
So ladies (& the one gent I know that pops in once in a while) - I have a tragically funny tale for you today. I was burying myself in budgeting for next month as we are currently finding it a challenge to keep on top of food spends, having succumed to take away and 'ermergency' deliveries of soft food. I was trying to see where I could pinch money from when I realized I could probably clear out OH's cloths budget. This despite the fact that we've had to get him hospital cloths and had just purchased him a much needed new pair of shoes. It then hit me, the enormity of what it will mean when I only have to budget for one. Let's just say it's the first set of tears I've shed all week and it lasted a good hour while OH was sleeping. As my immune system is currently taking a hit from the stress I chalked up the half box of tissue in the rubbish bin to a runny nose when he asked, and I'm adament that I don't want to cry in front of him. He didn't beleive me for a minute but let it go.4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! Aw hun, I could not read and leave. Being brave is exhausting and on top of that you're having to run around with health records admin, and encouragement admin, cheer-leading admin and culinary likeyness admin, all whilst holding down a full-time interesting job with a stressy commute, and one-thousand and ten other issues. Tears, however copious and tissue filling, are your right, to be expected, and darn well don't have to be explained to anyone.
Keep talking to us here. We're listening.

Oh RT, what a dreadful week you are having. Not really sure that there is anything useful that I can add other than to say that your online tribe are listening and are hear for you for as much or as little as you need/want to share 🤗5

Tears, vents, whatever helps. Having somewhere to ‘talk’ that’s away from your OH - so you can say whatever without having to filter, is one of the great strengths of this forum. Please be kind to yourself too, Greying_Pilgrim is absolutely right about all of this being exhausting.5

Sending big hugs to you.My friend who is currently rather poorly currently has fruit juice meal replacement drinks rather than the milky ones which she found unpalatable.
