A couple of days late, but have paid 7of10 of the mortgage overpayments for this year.  Looking at our financial situation, I could atm pay off the entire mortgage and have 6 months of expenses in the bank.  It also means I could pay off my mortgage and then go down to 4 days a week permenantly should it be needed!

    DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff.    Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Brilliant - well done on putting yourself in such a good position. I was thinking about the copy of the letter that was sent to the GP you had several years ago. Isn't that a data protection issue? Surely when you changed GPs that info should only go to your current GP?

What an incredible sense of freedom, just knowing that if push came to shove, you could! Especially if you have an upcoming meeting where you remind your grandmother that she should be capable of sucking eggs.

@rtandon27 do you belong to a union? I'm sure you'll negotiate wonderfully but it sounds as if toxic, probably illegal, practices may well be afoot.  A union could speak up for the less well-informed or confident people.  What a huge achievement love Humdinger xx
