Thanks for the news of KC and glad she is well. When we lived in London, we used to head for the south bank and the Thames when it was unbearably hot in the City as it was slightly cooler there. Also used to hang around the freezer section of any big supermarket 😁.

I can't be the only one to have sought sanctuary in the fridge/freezer section of m&$ (specifically), both on a hot day, and any other time, being a 'woman of a certain age….' 😉😆

GP - that did make me laugh! - I used to do this often back across the pond in July & August. Up and down every aisle until I was cool enough to think and function!
OH and I both dislike doing the dishes, but in this weather an excuse to play in cold water sees us both offering to do the dreaded chore!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! I was in Sainsbury's this morning and the chiller aisles were so cold, lots of customers were complaining. I think there must have been a fault as it was that cold, it was a relief to go to the pasta aisle 🥶

…and in other (financial) news…
…looks like that with the final grocery shop of the month we have come in 5.70 under budget! - not sure how this happened, as for the past six months I've been on average 12.60 over budget and money has been juggled from other pots to cover this! I think in part it is because OH has had a break from his medical treatment so has been less fussy about food and eaten the planned meals.
…we have three windows that are giving us grief - 2 are locked shut and one is not locking properly without being jiggled. We have a locksmith coming out to us on Friday to have a look & I'm rather pleased to have found a liscensed female tradesperson who knows how to provide a quote in writing, is flexible around my schedule and can communicate without talking down to me or calling me luv! She also promises to turn a blind eye to my not so tidy house, given that I don't do weekly chores until Saturday. (We have a budget for household maintenance so not worried about this bill in the slightest)
…we have the oxygen suppliers coming out for an assessment on Friday as well - 4 full months after we started the process to get the supply, more than 2 months after it was delivered and 1 month after the respiratory nurse came and did her assessment. Methinks this is completely upside down and inside out! (that's the polite version) - I'm contemplating organizing this privately through health care insurance going forward - but it's a cost share so will have to see if it is financially feasible.
…Natwest messed up my new ISA & contributions - asnot-o-gramletter of complaint has been drafted for resolver - will update on the saga another day!
…another saga this time with trying to return a present from my mom who sent me a hoover for my bday from the big river site - the courier with clipped wings did not show for two days running so now we have dpd coming on friday - I've put in a complaint with the clipped wing people for compensation for my time spent booking and rebooking and chasing up with the big river site as well as I could not rearrange pickup through my account as it was a present - once it has been picked up, there will be a credit which can be used towards an arbour for the garden. I've wasted 7 hours over the past three days - frustrating as I already have a jaws which she knows about as I was telling her it was much better than our former one of another brand which only lasted 2 years
…and finally after a 22.5 year saga with his ex, and far too much spent on lawyers OH may see light at the end of the tunnel for the sale of some jointly owned property! Not going to count chickens before they are hatched and he's spent at least 20K in legal fees over the years but yeah to the news he got from the property agent today. He's promised to write a follow-up e-mail to the lawyers tomorrow without me having to draft it - I'm hoping it wont' be too much of a struggle for him.4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! Lots happening. Hope the oxygen saga reaches conclusion soon as well as the property saga.

@dawnybabes - used? - can I say ewwwww - just ewwww!
@Baileys_Babe - I had a hard time today making the appropriate noises when someone who was in the office wrote and complained about being too cold as it was 17'C - I was working from home and it was 30'C inside in the shade! No working on the patio or summer house today as it was recipe for a sunburn!
@beanielou - I'm very glad he has the oxygen - especially in this heat, but the process for getting it is just plain upside down - the property saga is the one thing I try not to involve myself in overly, as it was before my time!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!!
