@faerielight - do you have family members and/or friends who can talk you through your options and help you search for properties?
It really sounds to me that you could do with some help from someone who can look at your situation objectively. And who knows your personal details such as where you live and where you want to live.2 -
thank you.. I have no family whatsoever, unfortunately. Many thanks to all who contribute on MSE1

Well done for going and speaking to the neighbours and in some way they did you a favour the loud ones alterting you to this. Definitely a good idea to pull out, don't let the agent bully you.
Good luck on your search.1 -
thanks everyone! I'm so glad I made this post, and so gflad I didnt take the house..it would have been awful.. That agent is the owner of an indeprendent estate agent.. the house is still on the market, so he just bullied me as he wanted it sold..
I'm only 53 so too young for 55 plus sheltered.. i do want to move anyway becaise my neighbour is so unreasonable.. she bullied 5.5k out of me last year to sort the roof and then spent it on getting the front painted.l. i just cant stand my ground with her. Plus my mobility is getting worse andf i need no steps.. the maret is just so hard.. there are so few bungalows .. ill just have to wait until one comes along.. its just soo stressful on my mental health.. ive just managed to get a credit card, so i could pay off my neighbour the 4K, but then id have to ask my buyer to up her offer by 4k to compensate as she was going to pay the repairs.. my agency is so hard to communicate with aftyer i made a formal complaint about them lying to me about the length of the chain.. ive asked them to talk to the buyer but they refuse saying it is unreasonable, even though it makes no difference to the final amount my seller will have to pay. .. i just want to pay off my neighbour as it takes the pressure off my mental health, and means im not so desperate to take anything. Many thanks to all who contribute on MSE3 -

Please do NOT stick the roof repair on a credit card. You'll be charged a ruinous rate of interest, and it will not make the problem of a difficult neighbour go away.
Just tell the neighbour that you don't have the money, and she will have to wait until you are able to move out.
There's no point her threatening you with legal action, as there's a complex procedure she should have followed to ask for the money as a service charge, which I'm virtually certain she hasn't done. So, you probably don't owe her anything. But there's no need to go down that route now. Just tell her she can't get money out of a stone, but you will pay her when you are able to.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?3 -
ok thank you .. She must know if she was to go legal, the property would be marked as a neighbour dispute.. she isn't stupid.. I doubt she will, especially as she has it in writing my buyer will pay the repairs. .. its just the pressure on my mental health

Run away. You never have to buy a house that will be awful to live in. You'll just end up wanting to sell and it will be a mess as you'll have to disclose you live next to noisy inconsiderate people when you sell on."Real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance" - Confucius1

The maximum you owe is £250. That’s under the law. Morally, you maybe should pay your share, but only once you have the money.I’m not suggesting that you thumb your nose at your neighbour, but I just don’t think you should take out a credit card loan for money that you don’t have a legal obligation to pay.No reliance should be placed on the above! yes its just the 2 of us.. she is so unreasonable.. last year I paid her £4k which i thought was to fix the leaks and do some rendering, but she spent it on a really expensive painter who painted the outside with no rendering.. she refuses to get 3 quotes and if something goes wrong, like it did last year when i also paid her £2k to fix the roof, she said the person she chose had just pained black paint instead of sealant, she then refused to contact them to get our money back.. she is a very difficult person for me to stand up to. I really cant wait to get away from her. Many thanks to all who contribute on MSE1
