You have made the correct decision. Do not be bullied into moving somewhere unsuitable. The Agent is not your friend anyway so who cares what they think of you.Why did the neighbour fund £4k of roof repairs knowing you cannot afford to pay? If they knew that was the situation then again do not be pressured by them. It takes as long as it takes.6

You are paying the agency. Remind them of that if you need to.
You are not doing them a favour; they are providing you with a paid service.
And if the neighbour is shouting at you then walk away from her. You don't have to stand and take it.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
It was an entirely good reason to back out of the purchase, the agent should not be commenting on whether it is a valid reason. There are other agents selling properties - whatever you do don't rush into a purchase because others are pressuring you5

Good luck OP in your future search OP, you did the right thing0

I could change agents but i would lose my buyer, and my chain is down to nothing now because she has gone into rented. .I have to pay £1k if i pull out, which i dont have. . but if she does pull out it would be a relief to get away from this agent and change agentsMany thanks to all who contribute on MSE0
