any way to shield from loud neighbours with outside tv in open hut?

You should consider yourself fortunate that you are aware of the situation before you bought the place and moved in.
Do not buy the place. There will always be other houses you can purchase.6 -
Buy it, rent it out and live elsewhere until they move....0

Noise cancelling headphones ma botty. If these folk are making an excessive noise outside when it's clearly intrusive and anti-social, they need to bludy stop. Who the hell do they think they are.I bet, if you ask them nicely to turn it down, they'll say stuff like, "Well, you didn't have to buy the place..."If the usual routes don't work - ie a polite request followed by a report to your LA - then there's always Radio 3, delivered at a commensurate volume. You are as entitled as anyone to a reasonably quiet enjoyment of your new home.1

I'm sorry OP, I wouldn't buy this place.
I can see you're desperate but buying and selling in short order, (as I expect you will, when reality dawns after you move in) is an expensive exercise.
Move on, find somewhere else for the sake of your health.

Hi,
it sounds like a tricky situation! Checking with other neighbors is a great idea to get a better sense of the noise level. If it still feels manageable, you might consider options like acoustic fencing or noise-dampening plants, as well as heavier curtains or even noise-cancelling headphones for some added relief.
It’s not easy, but with a few modifications, it might just work out for you.
Good luck, and I hope it turns out to be a peaceful spot after all!0 -
Aww thank you.. and thanks to all the replies.. I will talk to the neighbours next door tomorrow, and if they say it is really bad, I will pull out of the sale..I would hate that level of noise, I really would. Many thanks to all who contribute on MSE0

If other neighbours also think it's bad, then a joint/multi report should soon put a stop to it.Folk just need to stop being entitled, inconsiderate 'oles.2

I find outside noise much more distressing if it is disturbing inside silence. If I put on something of my own, even quite quietly, it is much easier for my brain to latch onto what I want to listen to and filter out the outside noise.I think it would be good to find out how often these gatherings do happen and how long. Are they every other day or every other week? But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.
