Morning all, it's lovely to see the sun this morning but it's also very cold and the wind is getting up! Hoping it will be like this tomorrow as need to get some washing done as I'm running out of T-shirts! Most have been packed and I thought I'd left enough out but apparently not! Also need to get the bed changed so want to get the bedding washed as well this week before we go away.
@weekendsaway - the job sounds ideal for you with being a few minutes down the road - much better than having to travel and the bonus of Christmas off! That's the problem with hospitality isn't it. My DD1's partner is a chef (although for the last couple of years he hasn't been doing much cooking (a bit like your job); it's rolling pizzas and flipping burgers and frying chips for the most part. He's now job hunting as he's handed his notice in and will be leaving after his shift tomorrow!
Our roast dinner yesterday was pretty cheap too as the pork was a piece cut off a half priced piece from before Christmas. All veg was from the cheap veg. Was all very tasty and apart from the apple sauce was syn free! What's not to like.
Didn't get to sleep until about 2.30 this morning due to the coughing but once I was asleep managed to sleep for nearly 6 hours so was a late start to this morning!
We didn't have the burgers yesterday after having a late breakfast so will be having those today.
Today's plan:
B - Weetabix; milk - HEA2; 6
L - gammon, egg, beans, mushrooms, chips - P; S; F
D - burger, onions, gherkin slices, soft pitta - S; 0.5
HEA1 and 2 - milk
HEB - Soft pitta
Syns - Weetabix 6; LF burger 0.5
Have a good day everyone.0 -
Sun? Whats that? Havent see sun or much in the way of daylight since the week before Christmas . We have been shrouded in mist and fog for ages, but the wind picked up last night ( just cos we had put the hot tub on ) , its cleared the merk but has bough rain and sleet and its bitter Fire is doing its best to light but is making a poor show. Im using Buddy as a hottie. but I need to get the ironing board out so need to move
I was looking to go out , either a good walk or a cycle ride but it really is nasty out there. Im going stir crazy and my knees really hurt from all the enforced sitting. Ive got no need to go to the shops even. When I went on Saturday after WI, I just got some reduced meat, spuds and diet coke
Just been catching up back reading a few pages, you have all done so well to keep the year on track and only gaining a little over Christmas, as you say @bubbs, its a lifestyle change - its for life. I had to admit after my last run in on here, I joined Mumsnet , and OMG they HATE SW with a passion over there, seriously hate it, yet are happy to use and recommend WLI. Because it seems, they have joined, got to target and walked away - going back to their old habits and gaining it all back, or they have read stuff like pasta being free so no need to weigh, and they think we are being told to fill our boots forever on pasta and spuds. They dont get that over the time as your lose the weight, that your eating habits change. I know now that I have to have a couple of speed days each week, to keep on the straight and narrow, and when I started this back in April 23, I was your serial veg dodger and did have huge portions of pasta. Now Im forever cooking too much because I keep cooking what I was used to, and can barely manage half of it
And finally I think my crisp sandwich on a Saturday days are over. The last two Saturdays, they lay very heavy on me and I felt yuck so last Saturday I never even looked at them and the ones in the cupboard that I got in for nibbles if anyone popped in, are still sealed
No one popped in cos of mum being so poorly. TBH I was glad it was a very low key Christmas, I was running on empty. Sleeping has up till this week been really bad, surviving on 3 hours most nights, I never got to see the grandkids or anything this year. But sleep is beginning to settle again and Im back up to 5 hrs. I hoping that , and keeping to plan will get this extra off PDQ Im not so worried about how much I am over target, just hate paying to weigh lol

Morning all, not as nice this morning although forecast to stay dry - they lied! Was about to hang the bedding on the line and there was rain in the air so absolutely no point. Had hoped to at least get rid of the worst of the dampness but no, into the tumble dryer it has gone - still not dry yet though!
Borrowed DD1s carpet washer and DH did the living room carpet with it last night - after we'd cleaned all the hair from the rollers! Looks like DD1 didn't hoover before cleaning her carpet although she insisted she did. Going to take it back today and will pop into the SM to pick up a few bits I need for meals before we go away.
Hope you get some great bargains again @bubbs at the Company Shop like you usually do.
Today's plan:
B - mushroom omelette - P; S (used up the last of the mushrooms!)
L - toasted cheese sandwich, pickled onions - HEB; HEA2; S
D - Mediterranean salmon, couscous - P; S; F (will use up the last of the peppers and some pak choi)
HEA1 - milk
HEA2 - cheese
HEB - bread
Syns - none planned but will probably have a G&T or 2 to celebrate New Year (although will be earlier - no way are we staying up until midnight!).
Have a good day everyone.

Creeping back in here 4lb heavier... (I'll officially weigh in on Friday, but I jumped on the scales a couple of days ago and that's what it said). I have had a good time and a lot of nice food, but I'm ready to stop eating sweet treats on a daily basis as I definitely feel sluggish now!
Today and tomorrow will be tricky - alcohol tonight, steak pie tomorrow - but I want to at least get back into the habit of reporting on here even if my syns are high! Then restart properly on the 2nd.
Off to a good start today anyway with porridge & apple for breakfast (HEA, HEB, 1.5 syn for sugar). Planning baked potato & beans for lunch and a stir fry for dinner.
Hope everyone else had a really lovely Christmas.Part time working mum | Married in 2014 | DS born 2015 & DD born 2018

A 4lb gain isn't bad for this time of year - some people add half a stone or more! There used to be a woman at my group that regularly gained a stone at every holiday period!
When it goes on quickly it usually comes off quickly. You're doing the right thing with sticking to plan when you can. Once the New Year is over and you can get back on plan properly that weight will soon come off.

Hello all!
Just popping my head around the door to wish you all a happy new year. Whatever you’re doing I hope you have fun x
It won’t surprise you to know that I’ve not been on plan but we are at friends tonight and I’m driving (1hr each way) so I won’t be incurring any alcohol syns. They eat plant based food and have made a black lentil Dahl which sounds lovely.I’m not going to find a group here in the new town but will go it alone. Need to find my mojo and plan my food. We have a fry up
planned for tomorrow (probably lunchtime…) which will be our first one in the new house!
Great bargains as usual @bubbs@bubbs

Good to see you @Coxy11 and a happy new year to you too.
I'm sure you'll be OK going it alone. I've been going it alone for the last year - I'm still not in range but wasn't when I stopped going after my January holiday and I've hovered just a bit above range! I definitely stick to the "Good when I can, careful when I can't" mantra!
Good luck with going it alone.0 -
It's a strange time of the year and so many people have the best part of two weeks off that it feels like one long holiday. No one seems to have put on masses, so we'll soon get back to normal next week. 🤞
Brilliant bargains @bubbs. My DD went to the Company Shop this afternoon and they were giving away the Richmond sausages. I've portioned up a couple of packs for DH. 😁
What about 'Lose weight with Slimming World, you know you want to' for a new thread . 🤔
I'm sure @beanielou will start us off, if she's not already on the raspberry gin? 🤣0
