Morning all, hope you've all had a lovely Christmas. Ours was fairly quiet with just DH, DD1, DGD and myself. Most of the "junk" foods have gone - most sent home with DD1 and DGD! Some of the gammon has been frozen - enough for 3 meals and the chicken has been used up in a curry.
The only thing there is still plenty of is cheese! Can't believe how much cheese there was as we didn't buy very much - only a small mixed pack plus some blue cheese but DD1 decided to bring a load as well so we sent that home with DGD as she's a cheese monster.
I decided it was best to know how much damage had been done so weighed Friday morning as usual and was pleasantly surprised to find I had actually LOST 0.9lb! Think it may well be because I work up on Boxing Day with a terrible cough so was probably sickening for it prior to Christmas. It's still hanging around and really hoping it's gone in the next couple of days with going away next weekend!
Finally back on plan from today:
B - fry up - P; S; F; 1
L - burger, onions, gherkin slices in soft pitta - HEB; S; 0.5
D - roast pork, roast potatoes, roasted veg, green veg - P; S; F; 1
HEA - milk
HEB - soft pitta
Syns - LF sausage 1; LF burger 0.5; apple sauce 1
Have a good day everyone.0 -
Hi guysLong time no postHope you all had a lovely Christmas and didnt get too much of a shock when weighing in
My group is Saturday mornings, 8am, I think there was 12 weighed in - total gain of 68 pounds lol, just one person lost
Still everyone enjoyed their Christmas which is the main thing
Last time I posted I had had a long period off plan, not going etc and obviously had gained, and week before christmas I was just one tiny pound above target, Im now two and a half above - oops so back on plan and looking forward to getting back into the swing of things
Life has been pretty hetic tbh and its been hard to keep 100%. Mums been very poorly, ended up having to call the ambulance for her the week before christmas. We were very lucky, they arrived within minutes and from being called, being taken down to Belfast, being treated and home to bed - 11 hours - which is a ruddy miracle this day and age. She had been months on the list for a minor procedure, which luckily they did in A&E. Having to care for her, keep working, run a home, very little time for me. Weather has also been shockingly bad so park runs havent been happening, well they have but Ive not been getting. Also I changed job, I dont get so many steps in as I was
However Christmas day , went to the pub for pre dinner drinks as usual - rocking size 8
So fingers crossed I will be here more then I have been and will catch up with you all

Welcome back @weekendsaway. You'll soon get back into the swing of things.
Sorry to hear about your mum but at least she got the minor procedure she'd been waiting ages for when she went to A&E.
What job have you got now? Life is definitely sounding very busy!0 -
Hello everyone. 👋
Well done all of you who've had tiny gains over Christmas. 👍 You've done ever so well to stay close to target @weekendsaway and amazing to have a loss @joedenise. 👏👏👏
My meals have been fairly SW friendly but it's the extra wine syns and chocolate that's been the problem. What matters though is that I've enjoyed every syn. 😁
DD1 was with us from Christmas Day until yesterday and DD2 came for lunch today and has just left. It's lovely seeing family but it feels good to have the house to ourselves at last.
I'm thinking we should start a new thread from January 1st. Any ideas for a title? 🤔0 -

Thanks @bubbs. Definitely feeling a bit better but the wretched cough just won't shift! It's definitely worse at night so not getting enough sleep. I'm hoping it will be better tonight as have only coughed a couple of times today.
I'm with you on the eating loads of crap! My belly has definitely be protesting the last couple of days!

This tea cost me less than £1 portion, veg was all 9p stuff, joint was £1.50 from company shop and was delicious.
I could only manage 1 yorkie, so 1 syn and 4 for gravy
Lunch free

@bubbs, woman after my own heart there. We had roast beef tonight, reduced bit of rump £3 and using the 8p veg still, around £1 a head ( 3 of us and one for the freezer for Mr W's lunches )@maman, my gain has all been alcohol - I sank two bottle of prosecco on christmas day, and then I hit the baileys - roll on Dry January is all I can say.Today has been the worse day for grazing for me I think. I decided to rip the kitchen apart and give it a bloody good clean - starting with the fridge. So what was left of the turkey and ham all got sliced up, some packed into the freezer, a bit left for sandwiches - there no turkey pie this year, even though I have the puff pastry in the freezer ready for it. But it was confronting all those "bits" tucked away in the fridge, being bought to my attention, made me pick this evening. Hoping Ive not done too much damage. What was funny though, clearing the drink away. We do have a bar out in the garage, but for matter of ease Ive had bottles sitting in the kitchen all Christmas and its too easy reached so I packed it all up and put it away in the bar, Now I was gifted two bottle of baileys so as unopened I decided to "hide them", and found 2 bottles I had hidden last year !!! lol. Then all the chocolates I packed away in one box, climbed up to put on top of the wardrobe, and found last Christmases chocolates hidden lol. Now I know they arent really hidden, cos I know where they are, but what happens is I forget about them eventually , and so it seems does Mr W
But all in all, after a pretty up and down year, Im chuffed to have got to Christmas the same weight as I was last so its been a win all told. Seems at times Im fighting the same 3lb, I cant get below 9 stone no matter how hard I put the effort in, but I can certainly get up bloody fast - scarily fast
Aye mum getting her minor op done in A&E was a blessing. Thankfully it wasn't invasive or intrusive because it was done in a corridor , with the registrar having to stop and step to the side every-time a trolley needed by. But then as I said to them when they were urming and ahing about doing it, if we were in Syria we wouldnt think twice. Mum wasnt too happy but I wasn't bringing her home without it being done. It was just having her nose cauterised, she had been having 10 hour nose bleeds for weeks, they were coming daily, she is on Waferin, our house was a blood bath and she was seriously deteriorating - weak, confused, barely able to catch her breath , confined to her chair, not eating, crabbit as hell, been a tough few months
So kitchen sorted, food all dealt with, decs all down, working towards starting the new year with a clean slate. Yes I changed jobs. I loved where I was but tbh, the travel was costing me a fortune and a lot of time. So I was offered a job literally at the end of my road, cooking, and I snapped it up. Cooking its not. I take pre made, bought in out of the freezer and stick it in the oven and air fryers and make sure it doesnt burn and it looks goodSausage rolls, bacon, hash browns, sausages, scones, apple tarts, cookies etc . And I dont take a taste of any of it
6-10am, do it with my eyes closed and a hand tied behind my back - and they pay me to do it
And best of all, for the first time in my entire working life, I got Christmas off
