It is windy and freezing cold here with occasional spiteful rain showers. I won't list my moans and groans, sufficient to say OH and I are still below par. Eating tasty healthy food mostly, but still succombing to extras that are neither on plan or healthy, it is what it is for the moment and will improve when we have more oomph.
Didn't feel up to joining knit'n natter again, but did drop by to offer season's greetings, cancelled meeting my bestie on Friday too, about 30 mile round trip on narrow country roads - not enough mental energy.

Well done on your loss @Bluegreen143. You've done so well in a month. 👍
Excellent bargains again in the Company Shop @bubbs. Glad it wasn't too busy and bargains left for you. 😁
Nice idea to have breakfast out before starting shopping @joedenise. I'm always pleasantly surprised how low hash browns are in syns. 😋
We had a really delicious Turkish meal today. The food (saksuka and lamb casserole) was fine but also gorgeous flatbread, baklava and copious wine syns.
Tomorrow should be better but it's DD1's birthday so cake might feature.0 -
Today’s meals:
B - fat free yoghurt, honey & banana (1 - honey)
L - tuna wholewheat pasta, sweetcorn, red onion, 30g cheddar (HEA, 2 - light mayo)
S - 1/2 advent choc & 3x roses from the Christmas tin (9.5)
D - lemon honey chicken thighs, new potatoes, broccoli, carrots (1.5 - honey)
14 syns in total, high for a weekday but hey that’s what they are for! First time EVER I’d have stuck to just 3 roses and then put the tin away - I chose them all and checked syns before I started eating them. Even more weirdly, I don’t even want any more, now I’m not mindlessly shoving them in I realise they are super sweet and three is ample!I was struggling with low energy today but a Diet Coke perked me up mid afternoon. Evening all, where has the day gone? It's been one thing after another today but I did at least manage to strip the bed and wash the bedding and hang it out on the line before my sister rang me. An hour later and it was nearly time to start sorting lunch out. Needed to eat reasonably early as we were going up to London to take DD1's exercise bike back to her as DH has now bought one for himself. We stayed there for a very short time as were then going to the hospital to visit DGS who went into hospital on Tuesday morning with severe abdominal pain which turned out to be appendicitis.
After about 6 hours in A&E they operated on him to remove it using keyhole surgery but unfortunately they'd left it too late and it burst so he actually ended up in surgery for more than 6 hours and went into sepsis! Still at least he's still here and alive to tell the tale. He's bored stiff, poor thing. He's unlike to be out until after Christmas so going to have to spend Christmas in hospital. Have to say the nurses seem a miserable lot!
Meant to say I've finished the top I was making and have got the skirt into one piece! Just the waistband to sort out now and hem it but of course not had time to do any today!
Some brilliant bargains there @bubbs for both yourself and the refuge. Well done.
Weighed myself this morning and pleased with an unexpected 0.6lb off - was expecting at least that amount on after eating out twice this week!
Today's plan:
B - cheese omelette - HEA2; P
L - burger, onions, gherkin slices in soft pitta - HEB; S; 0.5
D - Fakeaway KFC, chips, corn on the cob, beans - P; F
HEA1 - milk
HEA2 - cheese
HEB - soft pitta
Syns - probably have a couple of G&Ts this evening.
Hope everyone has had a good day.0 -

Thanks, yes it was scary @beanielou. Didn't know about the sepsis until we saw him today, just knew he'd been in surgery for 6 hours.0
-
That is worrying @joedenise, as sepsis can be more dangerous than the original diagnosis. I remember when my brother had an accident in a cycling race. He broke his hip but they were more worried about the infection from grazes from the road than him needing a hip replacement. Thank goodness it's sorted now but not much fun for him being in hospital over Christmas. ☹️
Anyway, well done on your loss! 👏👏👏 Unexpected but welcome. 👍
I've had a good day. We had a day out with DD1 for her birthday and stopped for lunch in the restaurant of an independent department store. I was delighted to find they did JPs and had beans and cheese with a generous salad garnish. 👍 So scrambled eggs for breakfast and KFC for dinner made for a good day. Plus the low syn option of prosecco for my weekend wine. 🤣1 -
Evening all 😁
Well done Denise and glad your DGS is doing ok .
Glad you had a nice day Maman.
