I think I may have found the perfect excuse for staying in for New Years. My OH has gone down with flu! I think I may give the pub a miss and maybe help my next-door neighbour with her new lambs instead!

We're going out in the next hour or so, just round a few local pubs in our town.

Hopefully, there'll not be too many drunken idiots about and we'll be catching our last bus home about 6pm.

Got spaghetti bolognaise planned for supper with a nice bottle of Chianti (no faver beans though :rotfl: ), it's our 19th wedding anniversary today and for the last 10 or so years we've always gone out early and then home for a nice supper.

Are we sad?
Probably, but at least we won't be fighting for a taxi at 12:30 on New Year's Day.

I now have no chance of getting out of it as my friend rang to say she has an all night babysitter and my kids can stay there.

There is also a bottle of Tequila staring at me with a smile on it's face, real friendly like.:rolleyes:

I can't be fagged to go out on NYE any more. Even my local pub is ticket only and it will be full of people I don't know barging through to get to the bar.

As I live on a hill, I get an amazing view of all the fireworks all across the town and right out into the countryside.

We're going to play a boardgame (I wanted the CSI game but it was out of stock so I've bought the Peter Jones business game today) and I'm going to order a load of starters from the chinese to pick on. I've cooked all over Christmas so I'm having tonight off (even though the OH will whine at me buying takeaway food!!)

I also don't have any parties to go to............sob, cinderella, sob.........

(not that I'm bothered TBH!!)
