What TV to buy..

No idea why we are finding this so difficult but looking for advice on how to choose a new TV for our lounge. I did check distances and our eyeline would be at least 2.5m from the TV which according to samsung's site is perfectly suitable for a 65".
The issue we have is that on the left side of the TV we have double patio doors and on the right a bay window. With our current older 55" tv it means watching in the day is bad ( the techwood tv has done us proud but is definitely getting worse ).. so do we choose a OLED or QLED
..and then could we honestly get a great 65" tv for under £1000 ?
Thanks a lot

Personally, I'd stretch for a Samsung Neo Qled for a bright room....Something like Samsung QE65QN90D | 65 inch Samsung Neo QLED 4K Ultra HD HDR Smart TV | Richer Sounds
If you drop to a 55" the Samsung would be at your budget....Worth the stretch for the 65" though IMO...😉👍

OLED or QLED will not alleviate that problem, blinds or curtains will.smallzoo2 said:No idea why we are finding this so difficult but looking for advice on how to choose a new TV for our lounge. You probably have one of the only times I would ever suggest the retina burning QLED TV's. That is if it is too inconvenient to darken the room.
I wouldn't however recommend one from Samsung. Any TV these days should support both Dolby Vision and HDR11. Samsung champion HDR11 and rarely support Dolby. There are QLED TV's out there that do, some use the Google TV interface as well.

Thanks for the comments so far. I'm not looking at a Samsung just using them as an example of what size I can have ..sorry

Hisense are a good make and through Richer Sounds you can get 6 year warranties.
Pushing the price up to your top end you could get QD-Mini LED

Screen refresh rate and full array local dimming from the looks of it. So a better panel on the more expensive one.0

What's the problem with the windows? Is it too bright or there is bad reflection?
Traditionally OLED was the better picture, LED (or QLED etc) was the brighter picture. QLED has a tighter viewing angle whereas OLED is better at different angles. LED deals with reflections better. In practice the two are converging somewhat but in perfect viewing situations, OLED still comfortably has the edge.0 -
Cello are a British TV manufacturer based in the North East.....Usually bought by older people who still think that British made means it's the best.smallzoo2 said:Thanks for the comments so far. I'm not looking at a Samsung just using them as an example of what size I can have ..sorry

They aren't bad TV's perse, but are very middle of the road performance wise.
You won't notice the absence of Dolby Vision on Samsung's HDR is everywhere, so don't discount because of that.

The Phillips will be the better of the two.
Not a fan of Ambilight, but it can be turned off if required. It's just LED lights on the back of the screen that illuminate according to what's on the screen. Some love it.
