  • I considered these Trading 212 when I was looking for a new home for my funds, ended up going elsewhere because all I read on here were folk having issues with them. From my perspective with my investments I want zero risk and zero hassle, or as close to zero as is possible, I’m more than happy to take a reduced rate of interest to achieve this.

Good luck with that. There aren't any zero risk investments.

It's easy enough to open an account and see how it works for you - if you Google you might be able to find a referral offer.

It's all anecdotal but it seems to me that the people having problems are those who don't like using smartphone and tablet apps and people having problems tend to shout louder than those who aren't.
There are some who have mentioned problems transferring out after recently transferring in.

Though yes it seems to be problems with 2FA. I hadn't set it up initially, but decided I preferred to rather than it automatically open up purely on recognising the device.

Given all the complaints there was about an app based account where you could gain access via sms if you didn't know the password, surely a platform where you need to use 2FA is better,

I agree with @wmb194 and others.  If the features and benefits are attractive to you, try opening a trading account and pay in a small amount of cash then withdraw it.   Then you can see if there are any issues which impact your use case and environment.  It all works well for me (and many others).  As noted previously I am using an authenticator app (for this and some other services) and have had zero issues logging into a new or existing device.

  • The app just told me that 2 form is comming.
Checked in settings that my ipad is trusted.
Then downloaded the app on my phone, a code appeared on the ipad.
Entered it on my phone and now both work fine.
I think both are now trusted devices so will not need the code again.
I wll just have to wait and see.

I have had the Trading 212 app since May and it has worked fine for me with no hassle, I can make payments in and out of my cash ISA; 2FA is no problem. Nice to see the interest added daily. I like them, but I do wonder how long the good interest rate will last for.

I took out the S&S ISA before the Cash ISA launched. I now have both, alongside a GIA holding the cash/share rewards they were paying at that time.

I have no issues. I voluntarily enabled 2FA when it was optional as I considered the then level of security to be too lax for my liking. It is logical that they have now made it mandatory.
