Now you can play at being a Dalek, round! (but don't get the sucker stuck on your forehead)
Everything is ready for this evening's quiz apart from a bottle of milk, a jar of coffee, and the little paper trimmer which I'll take downstairs when I've had my shower - slob that I am. But I was up at 3.10, 5.20 and 7.30, moithering, and had to "persuade" DH to get up and make breakfast before 10.00. 'Nuff said.
Then I've got to do a quick trip to the CS (with things that DH left behind), MrAl and the CoOp. I could get away with just going to the CoOp, but it's far more expensive than MrAl for the bits I need, and MrAl is not far from the CS. I don't know where my money has disappeared to this month - or rather, I know exactly what I've spent it on but I seem to have bought a lot of things for other people. Never mind, that's what some of my savings are for. It will all balance out by the end of the financial year.
Also Rosie will need a walk, and I'm pleased that it's dry and a bit sunny (she will be too).
After lunch I intend to retire to the sofa and hopefully catch up with some of my lost sleep. It will be an early tea.
See you on the new thread, if not before - have a good weekend xxx6 -
Yesterday started wood cutting with the chain saw, which went on protest and stopped, I got cross with it, so put it away and walked away from it.So this afternoon as I am a lot clamer I an going to see what is wrong with it, and try to fix it, or it is off to the chainsaw hospital just up the road.Been out doing poppies this am, weather was lovely, which made the good town folk, happy so they parted up with some money. So eat now, then chain saw.Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

Hi all
Funny old day, but not in a bad way, been to my Saturday volunteering, and been for a walk on my own. Cleaned all the windows downstairs inside and out and did various other small jobs.
Tonight DH and I have been out, something we rarely do. We ended up getting separated from the main group that we were supposed to be with and chatting with a lovely couple from the village who we don't know very well. It was nice but now I just have to have the confidence to not over analyse everything I did and said!
Bedtime. Not sure what the plan is for tomorrow.5 -
Morning all. No extra hour in bed for me!
Wordle in three, just the pink/purple line on connections.
Just the basics will get done today as we're out for DSs birthday.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.6 -
Morning xx
Stoopid clocks. Humbug. No extra hour in bed for me either.
I'm up, made my bed, taken my meds, turned over the calendars, changed the clocks, completed Wordle in three, completed Connections with no lives lost, and supped my first brew.
Yesterday P & S dropped off the plunger and stayed for a coffee and a chat. It took a few 'plunges' but I stuffed the overflow with wet kitchen roll and a couple of plunges later whatever it was shifted and there was the welcome sound of glugging. Far more suction with the plunger than I'd been able to produce with my hands. Bit too much suction actually, it wouldn't let go of the sink at times: just skidded about with me tugging on the handle 🤣
Anyhoo. Brew 2 is needed. Then I'll make a list. I keep having flying ideas. It's quite disturbing 😳.

RxxI have plenty of 'flying ideas'. What I lack is the inclination to do anything concrete about those ideas.Major victory yesterday after literally decades of trying and failing to make pizza from scratch successfully. I managed it a couple of times about 25 years ago and then failed miserably every time I tried subsequently. I gave up in the end but the pizzas we like are no longer made by the C0-0p and I rarely go to Morribunds now it's owned by Americans and the staff are so unhappy, so it was time to give it another go. Success! Delia's Complete Cookery recipe for the base but made in the breadmaker. Perfect. So simple when it works, such a nightmare to find the solution that actually does. Also made a couple of Chef Jean Pierre's compound butters yesterday and loved the results. That's two keeper recipes in one day. This morning I had intended to do absolutely nothing but I've cleaned the bathroom, tidied the dining room which was turning into so many hotspots that there wasn't a clear surface in the whole room, and spend about an hour and a half in the attic dealing with the chaos, realised that a whole supermarket tray of stuff needs to be binned (hurrah!) emptied another tray (hurrah!), found a few things I needed to bring down to be used, put very little up there except tins and jars, and put two large awkward-shaped things on the scrapstore pile to go again on Thursday.Belovéd has vacuumed the top floor and planted out the plants he chose when we visited the garden centre on Tuesday, and put the garden bin out. It's possible we work best individually and just let the other one get on with things they want done, rather than try to work together when we seem to spend a long, long time 'negotiating' and neither of us is happy with the compromises we have to make.Better is good enough.5 -
