Wow, everyone has been busy.
Before going out I cleaned the outside of all the downstairs windows, just the kitchen and toilet ones to do inside now, and upstairs too but they can wait. Had a lovely afternoon with friends. We also went to a garden centre and I've bought another Xmas present and some spring bulbs.Spend less now, work less later.6 -
@sexymouse - re-socks: have you tried safety pinning them by pairs before putting them in the wash? You can also use onion or orange bags (the netted ones) for the socks or crochet one.
Personally I agree with the theory that socks escape from the washing machine and go join the lids from plastic containers in having a romp around the beaches. Good luck keeping up with your socks.7 -

Another early start to day followed by an "I'm stuck in traffic" call from the gas engineer, so I went off to gym swim leaving Mr N preparing to have a hissy fit. When I came out, I messaged him to see if engineer had arrived and got the response that he'd arrived then gone off to get some parts.
- went into M£t£l£n seeking a spice rack. Zilch. Went into W!ckes to look at splashbacks.
- got home to find no engineer; he'd been back with one load of parts, disconnected the gas, drained the radiators and gone off to get something else; Mr N panicking as he'd arranged the plasterer for the afternoon. NDN, Mr N and I moved old range closer to the garage door using various bits of old broomstick handles as rollers. Engineer returned and looked impressed. Before long, he and Mr N had got the range through the garage and onto the drive. Still no offers on eebay so it will sadly be the scrap man. Very sad to see it go.
- plasterer came promptly and did a great job. As 4 fairly sized holes in the wall have now been filled in, I expect the house to stay warmer. Kitchen now looks a mess with all utensils (which usually hang off S-hooks over the range) are all in a box; pan stands moved to one side, floor needs mopping. However it is a lot of progress.
- Moving the range revealed a rather unexpected layout of "floor" - we'd thought it was standing on a concrete plinth but it was 5 misaligned blocks. Took those out to reveal a range-sized section of floor about 2" lower than the rest. Mr N and I went into town (again) to buy floorboards and floor insulation. I went into the R&nge seeking a spice rack as they'd had a good one when I googled ......nope, just sold online. Went home and ordered it.
- one load washing done, hung out, brought in, put away.
- caught up with some admin. Must start a new list as for every item I cross off, I add two more.
- emailed the company we got our granite worktops from to see if they did splashbacks of the same stone. Bound to be too expensive, but worth asking.
- did some drumming practice.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.7 -

I'm so sorry you've not been able to find a new home for your range Narco. Have you tried F'book Marketplace and Gumtree? As a freebie if necessary.I'm very impressed with the new to me phlebotomy system in this city. Had my bloods taken at about 1.00pm yesterday in a central location, and the one that sparked the initiating phone call to the GP's surgery results are in and the GP has issued a prescription so a drug I probably should have started taking about 10 years ago is already at my nominated pharmacy. We're all told there are huge problems with the NHS and our GP's surgeries and I don't doubt they're true in some places, but I have to say this is a brilliant system and I wanted to say a big Thank You to the NHS.Today's jobs:- trundle the dog- pick up the prescription- get my hair cut- prep for session at the Foodbank tomorrow by finding all the various things I am donating from the clearouts- if the stocksheets arrive this morning at home put them on the system before going in tomorrow- make some more soup if I've got the time and energy.Better is good enough.6

I'm very happy to organise the FSS again this year - and if you want to take part you can notify me now: send me your MSE name, your name IRL, and your address. But if anybody else is desperate to do it, I am equally happy to hand it over.
For newbies, it works like this:
- The FSS is separate from the Flylady Christmas Card Swap.
- For the FSS, you let me know before the deadline (let's set it for Sunday 10th November) that you want to participate.
- I pull your FSS recipient's name out of a hat on your behalf.
- I send you your recipient's details.
- You source a small gift for that person and wrap it without disclosing your own identity. A £5 limit is suggested, and preferably something that will fit in an envelope with a 2nd class stamp - but it's entirely up to you.
- You post the gift directly to the recipient as soon as possible and in good time for it to arrive before Christmas - and please remember to let me know that you have done so.
- Somebody will post a FSS gift to you. Please let me know that it has arrived.
- You are encouraged not to open the gift before Christmas.
In the meantime I have loaded the DW and S&S'd the kitchen, so I shall now continue wading through pages of quiz questions - getting there slowly!
Have a good day, everyone xxx

Hi all
Well done on the achievements eltee. Hope you have got the sink sorted Round.
DH did a load of washing and hung it out, I have thrown into the tumbler to finish it off. Kitchen tidied, work tops and hob cleaned. I might put the washing away in a bit.
After suffering with fatigue, anxiety and a whole load of other symptoms I have started HRT. I am just over a week in and feel worse than when I am started but I am told that this is normal and I just need to keep going. In the meantime I am keeping up with my exercise, eating properly and trying to be kind to myself.
