As i said it is impossible to check every item all the time. Despite what customer's think we don't set out to upset them infact most Woolworths staff are dedicated to providing good customer service i know i am, but it is impossible to keep a contast check on hundreds of items stock levels when there is 2 or 3 people working on a department. If you take a case to the till to discover that an item is out of stock then there will be dissapointment but that's life. We can't do miricles.0

Sorry-judging from recent experiences with dvds and sales staff trying to sell me a faulty mobile phone which had obviously been previously owned, i would say that Woolworths and customer service are 2 mutually exclusive terms.Wont now go near the place unless it's absolutely neccessary.0 -

I don't want miracles. I just want honesty.
The issue I have is not one of shop floor stock control, the issue is with the management of the store. It is not a matter of the odd item being out of stock, it is the policy of putting boxes on shelves when there is no stock, this IS setting out to upset the customer!
The policy of putting multiple boxes out on the shelves when there is no stock of the item is misleading. Lots of boxesleads the customer to believe there is plenty of stock. When I shopped at Woolworths there were no signs saying "out of stock" or "available to order" on any items. Staff were taking the empty boxes from disappointed customers and putting them BACK ON THE SHELVES! This is only going to disappoint MORE customers. This included multiple games console boxes on display at Christmas when they had run out of stock weeks before! It's not exactly good customer service is it?
The staff do try to be friendly but they cannot serve customers if there is no stock. It's not their fault, it's the management of the stores. Woolworths need to manage their stock levels better. If I want to order an item I do it online. If I want an item today I got to the store. Unfortunately I can't rely on Woolworths anymore so we don't go there.

It is your problem if all unhappy customers decide to shop elsewhere!
Less customers = less profit = less staff & cutbacks.Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -

i bet they all said that in the ones that have been closed down since too0 -

Aside to that i am a Senior and experienced member of staff and any cutbacks (although they wont be any at my store) would not apply to me, they would apply to the more junior member's of staff.
lmfao! i think youll find head office would have the same attitude, another store closing wont bother them, regardless of what position you hold.0 -

No it's not, it's commonly called stock control, most companies do it, what WW seem to do is laziness, it's easier just to tell someone a product is out of stock then it is to take the display down and then put it back up when the stock comes in!!0 -
oh well that person seems to have disappeared, how strange0

We are not lazy we do the best we can!0
