yeah ive joined you there, woolies are well off my list, theyve not replied to me ever again and obviously have no intention of doing so either, waste of time putting my business their way when they cant be bothered to do something so simple and take things off their shelves they havent got xx0

Their Christmas trading results out yesterday - very poor performance. The shares are now down to 8p so you might be able to mount a takeover!0

I have never had any problems like this with my local Woolworth's.
If something has been out of stock - there has always been a sign on the shelf to say so.Friends are angels who lift us to our feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly.0 -

Before anyone goes on saying thats because they had a box on the self but the product wasn't in stock or They didn't like it because someone was rude to them well it's not!
Basically they're now basically a dis-interesting brand because they've been the same for so long and won't be associated with the lasted products/technologies rather similar to the way W H Smiths has struggled.0 -
All items are subject to availibility, items will always be out of stock, that is retail. There are always more display cases than the actual item, that is to allow us to maintain a credible display. It would not look very good with gaps all over the place. If an item does become out of stock then a red out of stock tab will be placed over the shelf edge label. Maybe in this case it had been overlooked by a member of staff. It is very hard to check every item all the time as we sell hundreds if not thousands of DVD's, CD's and Games. If you had to queue and then found out it is out of stock then bad luck but i say get over it! No system will ever be perfect.0

Would you like to explain that to my 7 year old son?
Displaying goods on the shelves when there is no stock is directly misleading the customer. In my case it was not an oversight as the cashier warned us that the items may be out of stock before even checking. She had been singing the same tune all day long!
Imagine you're a little kid and you walk into the most wonderful sweet shop - you spend ages picking out what you want and then the shop keeper says we don't have any sweets - they are on the shelves to maintain a credible display. How would you feel if the shop keeper told you to get over it???
I cannot think of any other high street retail store that displays stock that it does not have.
As an adult I understand about limited stock availability but as a parent I find it very difficult consoling my children when they cannot buy the things they see on the shelves. That's why I no longer shop at Woolworths.
