Buyer opened a case before delivery window ends

This is from the help pages Get help with an item that hasn't arrived | eBay
It suggests you only have 3 days to deal with an open case. Out of interest where are you seeing the EDD as mentioned above mine are really optimistic and not based at all on my despatch time and postage service used.
For instance, I have a 2 day despatch on with 2nd class RM postage, this was bought last night at 11pm and the order details show:
Estimated delivery date shown to buyer: 23 Oct 2024 - 24 Oct 2024
Technically I don't have to post until the 23rd and RM say 2nd class is 2-3 days, which should give an EDD of 25-26th. However my buyer could open a case on the 24th.

Still nothing from Ebay or any response from my messages to the buyer. I have no idea if she received it or not.0

hubb said:Still nothing from Ebay.I doubt vey much that you will hear anything from eBay. It's a no brainer to send everything 48 hour tracked. It costs a little more but then when the buyer is paying because a tracked postage price is showing, they are paying for peace of mind.It sounds to me as though this buyer knew you wouldn't send the item tracked and have no proof of sending or delivery. However, to be fair, eBay shipping windows based on individual settings and expected delivery times are not from this planet. There have been several sellers who have complained to eBay about this unrealistic expectation, but eBat Towers knows best. So much so, sellers and buyers flock elsewhere to sell and buy and I'm not talking about Fleecebook, either!

It was free postage. I wouldn't mind but the buyer knocked the price down £4 from the £10 of which I accepted. I have to disagree that buying postage via Ebay is a safer bet. My experience has proved otherwise. Is it any wonder I sell on Marketplace most of the time these days.
Just looking now I still have 3 options
Refund buyer
Update tracking details
message buyer
I opted to message buyer twice a few days ago with no response. If I had a response of it arriving yes or no I would refund. It just gets to me they don't even bother responding. If I don't refund and wait until the deadline passes, what will happen ?0 -
Have you put the reference number in RM track and trace OP:
