Buyer opened a case before delivery window ends

Ok, so now I have another buyer filed a case against me that the item (I posted Monday) has not arrived. Ebay have withheld my payment (AND future payments !!!!!) I purchased standard RM second class postage (with no tracking). Nowhere in the listing does it say I am offering free postage with tracking. The buyer is asking for the tracking details. Another postage purchased through Ebay that has become unreliable.
Royal Mail 2nd Class
Estimated between Wed, 23 Oct and Thu, 24 Oct to cw84lg
Postage: Free postage
And yet Ebay have frozen my funds despite it still having a delivery window not overdue. I really can't be bothered with Ebay anymore. I only get a sale every blue moon but their reliability has completely gone downhill.

Without tracked delivery you are opening yourself up to a claim which you cannot win.

When you go to the post office with your parcels they give you a proof of posting. There is a tracking number on there, it cost nothing extra. The tracking is as much for your sake as your buyers.0

We no longer have a post office in our village so it isn't always easy if pushed for time. I could have asked for collection like I used to but last time they never turned up. This was because I used RM through Ebay and not RM direct. Ebay seems to be the problem.0

Was it a LL or a parcel how did you send it, via a PO or just straight into the post box? If you bought the label via EBay then even LLs have proof of delivery in about 75% of cases.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
