Are you honestly saying that your employer has - off their own bat - inexplicably 'settled' (PAID) it even though it's not theirs?

They had no business to do that. You didn't agree to that.

Surely not? Tell them to take a running jump.  You were never obliged to pay it but that was always your decision. Not theirs.

You'd never have paid a penny had you followed our advice, let it go to a court claim then watched them discontinue.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

It says that it's cancelled,  job done  IMHO

I take it that the OP's employer has paid it and is now wanting to claim it back from him, shakes head in disbelief!
I find this odd, as my work has directed me to Horizon website to pay the charge. Very strange, do i just shut up and stay quiet/ignore work now or follow this up with Horizon to double check this has been sorted what do you think?

I find this slightly odd myself. However, the estates staff (who handle parking) have directed me to the Horizon website to pay a reduced charge of £85. I've been told that today.

So my work aren't asking for the money it seems as they are directing me to the parking company site?

I find this very odd, do you think its worth a follow up with Horizon to see if this has been closed completely? I have screenshotted the page as evidence. Is this situation now sorted? I have no idea

I'd sit tight and say nothing. You have proof that it is cancelled and your work are not saying they've paid it (and if they have, that's their problem).  Cancelled isn't normally the word that shows on parking websites when cases are paid though. Very odd!

I might just do that! Can Horizon go back on 'Their Word'? It clearly states its been cancelled, do you think this could be considered cased closed even if they wish to take me to court over it in the future?

Just checking  -  the reference on the "cancelled" doc. (which you have redacted) relates to the one and only pcn involved?.

Maybe the estates staff are a bit dim, or Horizon did cancel it anyway, I wouldn't stir things up, Horizon will have hundreds of other fish to fry, and you have probably been forgotten already anyway.

I have only been notified about the one PCN so far. Is there any way to check for others?

This PCN "Offense" occurred in February 2024. I have updated my address with them so surely they would send through and further info?

  • "This PCN "Offense" occurred in February 2024."

Confused  -  the pcn posted next to "cancelled" shows a date of May 2020
