Insurance for daughter to drive my car.

Hi all
I will try to keep this as simple as I can.  My daughters car has failed it MOT and will be off road for a period to get it sorted, maybe 4 or 5 weeks.
I own my own car outright.  I rang my insurance company about adding her on my policy, so she can use my car.  They won't do it as she is only 23 and min age is 25.
Can anyone give me some options to resolve this?
I am currently undergoing some medical treatment for the next few months, so won't be using my car.  To clarify i am still able to drive, i am choosing not to during my treatment plan.  So I am happy for her to borrow my car.  In return she will drive me where I need to go.
I looked at temp cover but that works out at £300 a month!!!
Thanks in advance
Simon

Find a company which will cover her.  Cancel the existing policy and start a new one.

have you checked your daughters own insurance to see if her policy covers her to 'drive any other vehicle with the owners consent'? This will entitle her to drive your car with your consent but I believe it will mean she is only covered for 3rd party even if her own insurance is fully comprehensive. Worth checking those documents in case.

    Options:

    1. She adds your car to her policy as a Temporary Additional Vehicle - may have a 28 day limit and may not be able to repeat multiple times, check with her insurers

    2. You cancel your policy and buy another with her as a named driver - check cancellation fees first

    3. She buys Temp insurance - expensive

    4. She buys a full policy - insurers dont like two full policies on a vehicle at the same time but it's not "illegal", could get messy if the vehicle is stolen; take into account cancellation costs when choosing the insurer to go with

    5. Check her current policy to see if it has Driving Other Cars, normally it will be on the certificate if she does - note that cover would be Third Party Only with no Legal Expenses though naturally your own policy would still cover fire and theft
