I didn't realise disabling screenshots was a thing, I'm on Android and noticed if I take several screenshots of the voucher it eventually works. I'm sure there used to be a way that you could export a voucher to share it but perhaps that was only the fully stamped type. Not sure why it should worry Nero's if they are single use validated at their end who drinks the coffee.

Is the QR for the voucher not dynamic? It seems to change every few seconds so I'm not sure a screenshot would work?

Also, when you log into your Nero account on a different device, does it log you out on your current one?

Not sure if it logs you out, I'll check later when my son is awake. They do email you to say you signed in on a new device.

Today I made the mistake of claiming my coffee while still logged into my son's account which has already had a free coffee this month. I got an 'oh shucks' message, something went wrong and the coffee voucher is nowhere, not on his account or on mine.

The QR code is indeed 'dynamic' and changes regularly, so I agree with your doubts that a screenshot would work.

No, the system seems to be happy having your Nero account logged in via the app on two different devices - and the voucher(s) is/are available in both.

After you claim a coffee, the voucher is very quickly removed from the app (one has to assume this wouldn't happen if you didn't have a data connection) and you get a notification.

Just an update on the very last point I made in this earlier post (on page 62 of this thread) written in September, which was…

(Given that my existing voucher in the Caffè Nero app expires at the end of October, I suspect it may be possible to actually have two unexpired vouchers sat in the Caffè Nero app and claim them both at the same time - e.g. free coffee for you and a friend.)

When I claimed my second free coffee voucher in October (after my account's 'monthiversary'), the expiry date was 31 October - the same as my first voucher that I claimed in September. However having used the first voucher this weekend just gone, I've just noticed the second voucher now has an expiry date of 31 December - so at some point it has been updated.

(I didn't check whether the first voucher - claimed in September - had had its expiry date updated before using it this weekend, so I don't know whether the second voucher's extended validity came as a result of using the first one. However when I claimed the second voucher earlier in October, I did feel a tad miffed that the expiry given at the time was only 31 Oct - that said, the Zopa app is very clear in stating that one should only claim a voucher if intending to use shortly thereafter - but also, no need for me to feel miffed now I have an extra two months to use it!)

Apologies if this has already been written but I discovered an issue getting my Cafe Nero freebie.

I couldn't get the free coffee to show in the Cafe Nero app. I waited over an hour, tried a different account, rebooted my phone and then it occured to me it was my ad blocker. I'd set my private dns to dns.adguard-dns.com on my Android phone. On disabling the private DNS I got my free coffee, and it still shows on returning the private DNS.

Please shout if I shouldn't be using dns.adguard-dns.com or if there are better alternative.

I found the same. It was api2.branch.io that my pihole was blocking that stopped Nero app loading voucher.

Despite Caffe Nero saying oh shucks, a few hours later my voucher from zopa has appeared in my son's Caffe Nero account which was the account I was logged into on my phone when I asked zopa for my freebie.

I'm now wondering if it's possible to just have both of us getting our vouchers to his account then I can use both. It did take well over an hour to show up though so no use asking for it at the time of wanting to use it. I'll try this again next month.

I noticed similar, not used my 1st yet which was 31st Oct but just claimed my 2nd and now I have vouchers expiring 31st Dec 26 and 28 Feb 27 in the App.

Apologies if this has been mentioned already, but Zopa will be launching joint accounts. They have invited me to sign up on the waiting list for an early access trial. It's currently in beta.

I'm still on my initial biscuit benefits which had their anniversary earlier this month. I've had £1500 of DDs this month, am waiting for that to convert into cold hard cashback, and then I'll switch over to the new scheme, rinse and repeat.
