Just seen an advert for Gellibaff - it looks horrendous.

I'm with Pollybear, it's always said to be bad luck to keep it up after the 12th night but no rules on before then. My DS1 just hates everything being still up on his birthday so ours will come down before then. Possibly the second, no point taking it down tomorrow, not until I find out where we can recycle them, seems whoever had a real tree in this house before didn't find out as we have found 2 under a pile of leaves behind the shed.

Dusty I seen that advert last night, my son shouted 'Please can I have....' he was told NO before he even got to finish that sentence!
One day I might be more organised...........

I have been 'lurking' for the past 3 weeks and would like to take the plunge! Not sure how often I will be able to post but would feel pleased if I managed some of the flying. Just writing this is a start of a commitment to run a better home and I hope I'm still here this time next year feeling very pleased with myself!
Thanks in anticipation of the the usual welcome

Wow Kaz, wish i had your stamina :D

:rotfl: If I stopped I'd fall asleep, really, if I sit down I fall asleep and I've done loads of that over the last 2 weeks. I've been off work for 3 wks and go back on Wednesday working full time so I have to get on top of it before I go back.

As for iron mountain, I WILL MAKE A START as its been there for weeks and if I stood all the bags on top of one another they'd be taller than I am, and I'm 5'9

Both floors now done and WM/TD up to 6 loads each. Now do I bother making OH his beef wellington or do I use the last of the turkey for a casserole the kids wont eat. The latter I think as never made BW before and will try it tomorrow when I hopefully have more time.

    Tea then .............................

PS Hope you stay with us CAW63 we have a lot of laughs, a lot of gripes and groans (usually about men and kids :D ) but usually we get something done

Hi, I've been so busy cleaning and tidying I forgot to sign in and say I would like to be in again this week. We have friends coming tonight so I am going to have a bath and get some sleep. Friends not expected until 10-10.30ish and I am shattered. The tennis elbow is feeling much better today but I am still being careful and the CFS trying to beat me today! Too tired to list what I have already done.

DD discovered a lovely drink damson vodka (made earlier this year) and Co-op Cava. I will be testing some of that again later.

Hope you all have a good time tonight if you are staying in or going out.

OH is still poorly with man flu, so has decided not to go upstairs for their bad taste/karaoke party tonight, and although I'm not 100% either, I thought it would be nice to share [strike]my germs[/strike] the celebrations with them. They have all got colds too anyway. :D Now all I need is to find something to wear - they said just pick the worst thing in my wardrobe, but I don't have anything bad taste. Any suggestions that don't require too much effort?

I was going to do the painting but i fell asleep instead so thats one chore i didn't do, always tomorrow i guess :o Dinner time now, we have home made soup :p It's very nice, i make a big pot and freeze what we don't have today, it lasts for ages, yum :p

The kids can do the washing up though ;) while i come back on here later :D
  • Well today hasn't quite gone to plan, half the kitchen is spotless though, far cleaner than it's been for ages. I'd forgotten how good baby oil is on stainless steel, my cooker is all shiny again.

The rest of the kitchen can wait until tomorrow for tonight I shall party. Well actually just going over a friends house to watch movies and stuff. Talking of which I need a bath as my hair is covered in plaster dust !

ditto - I backed it up with it ruined one of my flyladies houses.

Kids fed. We are all exhausted and due out at 8:00 (kids included) I really don't feel great so am not looking forward to it but the kids are.

I feel old to be posting at this time of night on New Year's Eve, but OH is working (playing a gig) so I am in on my own. We had our New Year celebration last night and I drank far too much, I am just not in training for that sort of thing anymore. Feel grot. We got home today, have sorted masses of presents, washing etc and house is better, but need to get going again tomorrow. Work on Thursday, when I will be moving into my new classroom -woo hoo!
Welcome to all the newbies and returners. Happy New Year everyone, and thank you for brightening my 2007.
