Tartan Mum Kids went out earlier, its all away now, we got rain. Which means slush. Dog was funny, opened the door to the garden this morning to let him out and he just stared! Then gave me a look as if to say 'Is it safe?'. :rotfl:
:coffee: has kicked in, just spent ages leaving hyperactive comments on Livejournal! :T so... going to go do 'STUFF'. :j0 -
LOL - sounds exactly like the look DS gave me - unimpressed he was...
Hee hee.
DH has just said some of it is melting here too but it's not all gone yet (hey maybe we're in the same place?) and our big snowman is intact (DH is a big kid) but the sky is looking grim so maybe more is due. Yipee
Wish I had some real cheesecake but am trying to lose weight.....so all I can think about is food. Grrrr

MFW #60…. Back in for 2025!0 -
Late afternoon update
My foraging for a greengrocer was successful - discovered a new butcher so bought a pheasant, some lamb chops and some diced venison for a stew from him. The venison, I thought, was really reasonable - £3.50 which will make a stew that will give 5 or 6 servings when all the veg go in.
Also bought some mung beans which I'm going to have a go at sprouting. I object to paying Tesco's prices.
- [STRIKE]Go to physio[/STRIKE] Boy did she work my back hard today - it was quite painful!
- [STRIKE]Deliver books to accountants (as you would expect, in a diametrically opposite direction from my house to the physio!)[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]Find some fresh veg from somewhere other than a supermarket[/STRIKE]
- Contemplate doing self assessment tax return (needs to be done by 31st Jan)
- Pay cable bill
Finally Friday - those terrible kids rooms and spare rooms
As DS is over the age of 21 and has a wife - I don't do anything in their room so I get off lightly today I think. DD's old room is now an extra sitting room so I shall concentrate on that
Level One
[STRIKE]Vacuum Floor (even if it's just where you can see) [/STRIKE]
Level Two
[strike]Strip beds, vacuum mattress and replace with fresh linen[/strike] N/A
Level Three
[STRIKE]Dusting and cobweb checking [/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Put anything back in it's place that isn't where it should be[/STRIKE]
Extra Mission Task Choices- Time for the Friday Flylady Fling, aim for 27, if you can't find that many, well done, you are obviously making a difference
- Sort through some toys/books/clothes even if it's just for 10 miutes, making sure any broken ones are dealt with/flung, dirty ones get wiped/washed before putting them back and anything that should be parted with is.
- Clean kids rooms windows (check the curtains etc while you are there to make sure they don't need cleaning/wiping)
- Wipe any sticky marks off doors and walls in the kids rooms, may aswell wipe the lightswitches and handles over too
- [STRIKE]Spend 10 minutes sorting paperwork, filing or flinging [/STRIKE]

Gosh today is starting to drag. My car still isn't ready, even though i know they were working on it at 10 this morning. Good job the garage is cheap and does a reliable job, cos i wouldn't recommend them on speed. I need to wait another 30 minutes or so, and then pick it up.
I have not really flown this afternoon. Spent some time reading my book, which is now finished so it can go to my sister and then the charity shop. A bit more decluttering.Charlie played ever so nicely while i read.
tracey sorry to hear your news. My sisters friend has recently died from a brain haemorhage, so i know exactly what you mean about the shock of it. More reason to live our lives in a manner we are happy with and not plod on being miserable if you ask me. That is why we made the decision to have number 2 so quick last year when my aunty was so ill. Life is too short.

Hello all
Not much flying done here just "maintaining" i.e. picking up DD1 10th clothing change of the day are rehanging it back in the wardrobe:mad: , moving the same toys backwards and forwards, real battle of wills but I shall not be beated - will threaten them with the bin if it carries on that usually does the trick;) .
Does anyone know if you were dehydrated and then drank 4 glasses of water would you get a headache???? I think I may have been in such a foul mood the last couple of days because I have upped my tea intake but not drinking anything else. Who knows maybe I am just a stroppy, moody mare and there is no explanation, DH would agree me thinks:rotfl: .
Sorry about your sad news Tracey - hugs for you at this sad time.
Embb - sorry your on an emotional rollercoaster at the moment, I guess it is all still raw and sinking in. Hugs to you too.
Littles back to school next week so life will return to normal. Am feeling stuck in a rut and not sure what to do with myself
Littely wants to go on cbeebies and I must check on the roast.0 -
ooh cheesecake - my speciality! I have half a tray of millionaires shortcake going begging complete with a layer of fudge and belgian choc on top? I forgot to send it home with SS1 today. Too sickly for me, too manic inducing for littles and DH only does savoury. It is lovely to have a real oven after a year of a broken gas one.
Cleared the top floor, waiting for the TD to stop for our bedding.
Doing some reseach on chickens at the minute. I am blaming Soappie for putting the idea in my head, although the price of eggs is a strong influencer. I always think that they look like evil little things so not convinced yet.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -
Shell yes, it could cause a headache! If your dehydrated and suddenly drink lots your body stores the water and you swell up. So that can cause a headache. Best thing to do when you feel a headache coming on is slowly drink a glass of room temperature water. Something about cold water is more of a shock, and room temperature water is absorbed quicker.... or something.... And tea is large quantities can give you a headache too... which is why I only ever drink coffee! :rotfl:and because coffee gives you a bigger hit of caffine.... which is bad too, but who cares?
hex I hate chickens, sorry. I had a neighbour who kept them and a rooster... and roosters don't just !!!!-a-doodle-doo in the morning.... they do it from 3am in the summer!!!! and the winter... and of course he kept the coop near the house didn't he... I can still hear it now.... it didn't even !!!!-a-doodle-doo right!0 -
Michelle - it's probably a good job there's only 20 months between my two - if I'd waited until now DD would put me off having another one big style.
Shell - why do they need to change so many times in one day? My DD decided she couldn't possibly go out in the T-shirt she was wearing as she didn't like it even though she'd been wearing it all day because she really liked it!She tends to just get changed and put the clothes she's been wearing in the wash basket even though she's only been wearing them for an hour - it's no wonder my washing and ironing is never ending.
Kids are now at my parents' and DH is in the bath. Not sure where we're going yet - think just the pub and we'll grab some pub grub while we're there. Can't remember the last time DH and I went out together on our own so really looking forward to it.
DS's bedroom is half done - may end up getting finished tomorrow now. WM & TD are just ready for their 4th load!
I probably won't be back until tomorrow now.
