This is absolutely the most long-winded and tedious switching bonus I've gone for.1 -
Well the £75 came through today so that's a win. Now just three more months of wrestling with them to allow me to return £700 of the £1000 I pay in back to my savings. The other £300 goes on the regular saver, direct debits and debit card payments.0

New to the switching-for-the-bonus game, I set up a second current account a couple of months back and added a couple of charity DDs so the account would be eligible for switch bonuses. That account is just going through a switch to First Direct and I've been making small purchases on the account to cover the "5 debit card transactions" requirement.
No idea when I will get the bonus, but will continue to use the debit card just in case.
Wondering if I might then move to co-op for this little bonus too. But then I probably need to stop as I'm at risk of confusing myself now!!!0 -
I had a very long wait (over half an hour) to get through to give a Visa Secure password. But fortunately the representative I spoke to knew what she was doing, and it was easy to let her know the password I had chosen.0

Don't you just love self service tills for getting multiple card payments?
A little experiment doing 10 in Aldi and 10 in Coop to get my switch 20 done in the month.
Aldi is much quicker than Coop and whilst you might get funny looks, no one says anything. In Coop having a video of yourself starting you in the face is very off-putting!
Another £25 in the bank!4 -
I'm still waiting for my switch bonus from their last offer. I waited for some time after their suggested 'qualifying date' before enquiring and they've just replied that my account wasn't open by the time the offer closed. Having previously seen some negative reviews, I had the foresight to download and save their webpage offer which set the deadline by application date - not account opening date. In addition, I have an email confirming the opening of the account 10 days before the deadline anyway. They have now passed this over to customer services - which to me means kicking it into the long grass so in the hope I'll go away. It looks liked they are doing anything to wriggle out of their obligations.0

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

1p !!!
I pay for my phone calls so there is no way I'm phoning them to release my tenner. I just ignored the message to contact them and the money returned to my account today, 5 days later. In the meantime a test payment to another account went through OK, as did the transfer of £1000 (in two chunks) all without being challenged. I don't know who writes their fraud detection software but they are clearly not very good at it.
And the happy news is that they have paid me the £75 today so tomorrow I get to do the payment and debit card dance again, but for a lower reward. Can't wait to archive this account.1 -
The 7% regular saver is reason enough to keep it open. They seem to release the payments not long after you reply 'yes' to their anti fraud text message. It's definitely clunky, but not absolutely unusable.0
