A microwave may cook a burger quicker from raw, but who wants a microwaved burger rather than a barbecued one?0 -
Are modern day cars fun to drive though? All tech and no driver ability required.0

I went for the M2 as i dont need anything bigger and went for the "OG" rather than the Comp as it sounds so damn good and has a more characterful engine.
Not tail happy at all, unless you want it to be.
Not a supercar by any stretch but a super car.

I think probably the easiest supercar to run is maybe the Audi R8.
A friend of mine runs one and he budgets around £3K a year in maintenance, but thats offset by practically nil depreciation.
Its certainly possible to buy something low miles and well maintained for well under £40K

For the Aston lovers, a cheaper alternative seems to be the Jaguar F-Type in 5.0 litre V8 guise.
£30K will get you a much younger Jaguar.....

Lexus LC is another one.
You'd get Lexus reliability there, in something that looks pretty awesome and is an excellet drive to boot.

They got a well maintained Aston Martin Vantage and ran it for 18 months with pretty minimal running costs and lost about £3k in depreciation. They have now bought a Ferrari 360 in red and seem to be doing alright so far. You can reduce the risk of catastrophic bills, but with these sort of cars they are always a possibility.
If you can spanner yourself, a lot of old Porsches can be pretty economical to run with the aid of eBay and breakers. I ran a 986 for 7 years and made a profit breaking it at the end, you could probably do similar with a 911, although it depends how you’re defining ‘super car’.
Ferrari 360 is a good MSE car, its value won’t ever drop, but may creep up. Can be used as a daily driver too.986 and 911s aren’t really super cars unless it’s the Turbo S or GT RS models. The Turbo engines in the 911 are bullet proof.
They need to be impeccably maintained to maintain their value and the bork factor.
Lovely cars though.0
