My mum has now been cremated as she wished , we will await the return of her ashes. I am back at work on the 11th albeit for less hours the first couple of weeks. The cogs of officialdom turn slowly, even I am exasperated with it .During this sad time my friends have all been amazing and I feel blessed to have them. I feel the need to get back into my routine of work etc now to move forward . Can't believe we are in May , the last I looked at the calendar it was February. Dad has asked me to clear mums clothes and shoes out, which was incredibly hard but I am nearly there now. The charity shops have been welcoming of the donations. On Thursday I am vote counting in the local elections , think I will be tired in school on Friday.
Money is going ok , have made a few extra pounds on Vinted in the last few days after sorting my summer wardrobe out. I am looking forward to a morning out with my future DIL on Tuesday we are going for one of her wedding dress fittings.Life is an adventure, never stop exploring.5 -
Back to work went ok , still less hours this week. We are still wading through the financial institutions, Nationwide have been superb with everything unlike others.
I am now trying to wean down my time spent with Dad as he has to get used to being on his own when I return to work full days. He is doing very well actually and is even talking about going away on a short break by himself.
I have met up with Oz relatives this week and thoroughly enjoyed that.I have holidays booked now for this winter and a few short breaks for the summer months . Need to fathom out how much I need to put in the holiday account monthly to make sure the funds are available to pay them off.
Have watched Believe me this week which was very interesting .Life is an adventure, never stop exploring.4 -
Well done to your dad bless him. I’m glad you’ve got some time away booked to look forward to.

Some of mums money has come through , the Nationwide sorted it in a week . NS&I are now saying 8 weeks to even look at the online form .
I have made the decision to pay for some spring cleaning to be done at home . I haven’t had the time to do it and would really like a few things doing. . A lady who I have known since she was 6 has set up a cleaning business so she is coming to do it . Money well spent in my book , one less thing to try and do .
I am having my DGD stay tomorrow night and then we are going into the big city on Saturday . Really looking forward to it spending sometime with her .
Today’s is dad’s birthday so I am whisking him off for his lunch out at his favourite restaurant. The first of many firsts for him without my mum .
My sleep at the moment is dire , it’s never good but this is bad .

I would love to have my house professionally spring cleaned. I struggle to keep on top of the day to day cleaning never mind spring cleaning. It's good that it's someone you know and money well spent as you say.
I hope your dad has a decent birthday. Enjoy your day out with DGD.
