Pleased to report that today is my first back ache free day . Work has been so busy the last 2 weeks I thought oh I’m retiring but then common sense prevails as I actually love my job .
My dad continues to do ok although he did have a situation yesterday that meant I had to leave work for an hour . Thank goodness for wfh and a kind manager .
We had a family meal on Sunday to celebrate my mums life , my DS did a bit of a eulogy.
Also went to the hospice to give the staff some food gifts and thanks for the amazing care mum received. Dad also did a donation .
Financial things for mum are slowly getting sorted just NS&I holding things up have been waiting 7 weeks so far . The DWP have paid some money out to Dad for pension mums estate was due .
Received my £100 from Nationwide today and a £25 PB win so I have been and got some Euros for November , have enough spends now for Lanzarote .
Our pay agreement still hasn’t been sorted so some back pay will be forthcoming eventually.Having not left the county since January I am finally able to get away for a few days from Saturday up to the North East . I literally can’t wait to get on the motorway to have some me time .
In the big shopping centre for a little look what’s about but mainly window shopping .
That’s it for now .Life is an adventure, never stop exploring.3 -

My break away was lovely just what I needed at the time. My dad’s break was not so good , the day he came home he phoned me at midnight and we ended up in A@E for 13 hours . He got sorted out straight away and when he was stable we got moved to a corridor for 5 hours . An X-ray a few days later showed my dad had a small fracture in his T12 probably from old age and osteoporosis. Fast forward another 10 days and I got a call from a paramedic saying my dad had fell backwards on a bus and had a head injury. Another 5 hours in A&E no damage found had CT scan on brain and X-ray on ankle . The head injury was better than it looked and has healed on it own . The problem no is he had no bruising on his back he did have lots of other bruising but his back is causing him great pain , so another X-ray done to see if things are worse or the same . The hospital visits have started off lots of appts . My dad is very down and using a walking stick . I am there nearly everyday.

For myself I am finding it very difficult to navigate as he refuses all outside help , he has let a family member take over the gardening . He does say he wants me to carry on having my life but that is also hard as the constant worry never goes away . On the plus side I have learnt a lot about my dad’s
early life since my mum passed away which is so lovely to hear .
Other family members have not bothered to visit so it’s all on my plate , but when I feel overwhelmed I think of Sun Addict and all she does is. My SIL is a help but she works full time . I hope he does get better so he can get his independence back .Life is an adventure, never stop exploring.3 -
To make more time I now have a cleaner once a fortnight which is a god send .
I am still going away with my GKs in 2 weeks and am away for 9 days in September. I will be having the GKs in the holidays as well . My dad will have support from SIL .
Money has been going well and I need today to find a new isa for my retirement money and the children’s savings .
There are lots of changing going on at work so I will see what happens with my job .
Rhis morning finds me at our RHS which is already busy as to be expected. I am trying to do something for me at least once a week .
A very long post but I use this diary to record things as well as monetary ones .Life is an adventure, never stop exploring.4 -
Sorry to hear about your Dad's struggles. I'm glad you are still able to get some time to do things. Shame the rest of the family (SIL excepted) aren't being more help.
