Hi folks,

I have a similar case, in May I paid for 1 hour parking and parked at the Mansfield car park Leicester operated by Parallel parking. I got back just in time but encountered a muscle strain while at the park. My 1 year old daughter was with me so I struggled to get her into her car seat and get myself into my car. I eventually felt some sort of relief and drove off just within 29 minutes more. A week later I got a PCN of £100, to pay £70 within 14 days. I appealed it but got rejected, I also appealed through the Independent appeal and got rejected as well. Now I got a letter from their solicitor through money claim asking me to pay £255.
Any suggestions what I should do please. Thanks.

    1. read the newbees thread.
    2. do not pay.
    3. contact the landowner ( not parallel parking )
    4. do not pay.
    5. as part of your appeal to either PP or Independent Appeal ( they are not independent by the way - they are run by the actual parking companies - so no surprise you lost )
    5. do not pay

    Hello and welcome.

What is the Issue Date on your Claim Form?

Can you please show us a picture of the Particulars of Claim - with personal detail hidden of course.

Have you filed an Acknowledgment of Service?
If so, upon what date did you do so?
Your MCOL Claim History will have the definitive answer to that.

When you have a few more posts under your belt, please consider editing you thread title to something a bit more descriptive of the subject matter.   :)

Can't have been. Must have been £60.

    Check!

I also appealed through the Independent appeal

    You didn't.

There isn't a real 'independent appeal'. They duped you into trying the industry one that THEY supply, where only 4% of appellants succeed.

That was pointless but no harm done.

Read the NEWBIES thread first.  Di 't ask for a link. See my signature for what the link looks like on every page.

PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:

You must get those images removed immediately. Hit the Report button below both those posts.
It shows the world you Claim Number, your vehicle's registration mark and your MCOL password.
Almost enough for anyone to file a rubbish Defence on your behalf.

With a Claim Issue Date of 11th September, you have until Monday 30th September to file an Acknowledgment of Service, but there is nothing to be gained by delaying it.
To file an Acknowledgment of Service, follow the guidance in the Dropbox file linked from the second post in the NEWBIES thread.
Having filed an Acknowledgment of Service in a timely manner, you have until 4pm on Monday 14th October 2024 to file a Defence.
That's over three weeks away. Plenty of time to produce a Defence, but please don't leave it to the last minute.
To create a Defence, and then file a Defence by email, look again at the second post on the NEWBIES thread - immediately following where you found the Acknowledgment of Service guidance.
Don't miss the deadline for filing an Acknowledgment of Service, nor that for filing a Defence.

Do not try and file a Defence via the MoneyClaimOnline website. Once an Acknowledgment of Service has been filed, the MCOL website should be treated as 'read only'.

I’ve tried to remove it but image is still there.
