    With zero exit fees, if you see a cheaper tariff than the one you are currently on, you may as well switch. You can always switch again later 
    You've missed the point. My 15M fix runs out on Christmas Day 2025.  It's no longer available, only a 12M version.  If I sign up today for a 1yr fix I could be hit hard if prices then rocket because I'd be stuck paying a fortune for over two months next autumn. Could be a mackerel to catch a sprat.
    Given same scenario  prices might be even higher by Christmas Day 2025 in lead up to January 1st 2026 price cap change.
