Hi,
I bought a pair of, admittedly cheap, shoes 11 days ago. Within a few days, the insoles had worn away to nothing so I bought some replacement ones, today the sole has worn away to nothing and there is a large hole. They are now unwearable.
Are there any actions I can take?
Thanks a lot. Any advice is appreciated.

How much have they been worn?
Just don't go in all guns blazing..Life in the slow lane1 -
Yes, your consumer rights are that the goods should last a reasonable period of time. Even for a cheap pair, 11 days is unreasonable.
Within the first 30 days of ownership you have what is called the short term right to reject. Take them back to the shop for a full refund. If they argue, tell them you are rejecting them under sections 20 and 22 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
You must be some walker! Where did you come in the walking marathon at the recent Paris Olympics?
Perhaps you need to pay a little more for your next pair3 -
I'll go back to the store this afternoon.
Thanks for the advice, I just wasn't sure if I had a leg to stand on, they've been worn but not much. It's not about the money, it's the principle of it being duch a short time.

I don't have the box they originally came in, is that okay?
I've got the receipt and proof of purchase. Sorry, I just want to be prepared, hate any animosity.0 -

Agree, with the above, please don't go in all guns blazing, it helps no-one.
I doubt there will be any drama refunding you after only 11 days of use. Agree with another comment that you probably want to look into higher quality pair of shoes if you've managed to wear the sole down in less than 2 weeks... perhaps professional marathon shoesKnow what you don't1 -
I've barely worn them, that's what's so frustrating! I'll head down now and see what happens.
EDIT: All done.1 -
Hi all,
Update on this and any more advice would be appreciated. The replacement shoes have now encountered the same problem, admittedly it has been a longer period this time - we are beyond 30 days (56 by my count). Would this count as a reasonable amount of time or not?
I must add, I dont have an issue with purchasing more shoes, I'm aware that if you buy cheap your expectations cannot be high, but at the same time, I'm curious about my rights in the matter.
Thanks.0 -
The question which hasn't been answered is how far the OP walks every day. For any pair of shoes to wear out in 2 months seems incredible to me. How long do shoes normally last them?

That's exactly my point! I usually walk for around an hour a day, plus any general errands. That's it. Cheap shoes or not, I don't think they should wear this quickly.1

The seller is only entitled to have one attempt either to repair or to replace the shoes. If the repair/replacement also fails, you are entitled to a refund. If the repair/replacement fails within 6 months of the original purchase you get a full refund.
All this is covered by:
s9 - goods to be of satisfactory quality;
s19 - consumer's rights to enforce terms about goods;
s 23 - right to repair or replacement;
s24 - right to price reducution or final right to reject;
of the Consumer Rights Act 2015
Out of interest, how much did you pay for the original shoes? Can you provide a lnk to them?0
