Disputing a transaction on credit card with scam retailer

Hi , we just noticed a series of 3 recent transactions on our RBS creditcard mastercard one month apart £39.99 each. Never heard of the business PYD*be-chef.club Harlow GBR. Search on trust pilot reveals others have the same issue -an unwanted subscription triggered by a pop up while making a legitimate purchase on a variety of on line sites. We reported fraud to RBS who replied this is a retailer dispute and we must contact the retailer. How to contact an unknown retailer? Trust pilot reveals a possible email but how can we be sure it's the right one ? We have attempted to contact and demand refund. RBS equally unhelpful over blocking future transactions.
We will consider asking for new bank cards, probably have to say old ones lost /damaged.
Chargeback is an option too.
Please everyone watch out for this, especially the £1 initial charge to 'verify your card 'which seems to happen so often and can lead to unwanted 'subscriptions'

One problem with credit cards is that getting a new card won't stop this continuous payment authority.
You need to make a formal complaint to RBS.2 -
Agree, get back to RBS.
But could it be these guys? (4th result searching for "PYD*be-chef.club Harlow GBR")

Maybe remind RBS that the Financial Ombudsman takes a dim view of banks not helping their customers
ITV Winners Club #87 :eek:1 -
Thanks both for the help, yes it looks as though its the bechef.club people, disgraceful that they can obtain credit card details without the person 's knowledge. We have not heard of them but have followed the unsubscribe procedure and hope to hear no more.
RBS webchat sent us from fraud team to dispute team and back to fraud, took all day. Weirdly they state that cleared transactions cannot be disputed but then they will support us once a transaction is complete if we dispute it ?? Not good service and I told them so. It's our money so why can't we instruct the bank to block any future payments? Unbelievable.
Thanks again.0 -

Good evening, we have now received an offer of 50% refund from the be-chef.club support as a ' gesture of goodwill'! Apparently we accepted the terms and conditions and provided payment information during' sign up', how can they get away with this ? Even if we accept the offer there is no real guarantee we will receive anything,; As we did not agree to the payments we should be reimbursed in full ,surely. One good thing is that the 'subscription' has been canceled ( note US spelling) so at least that's a step forward.
Thankyou all for the help and advice0 -

My bank shows pending payments. I also got a text, appearing to be from my bank = First Direct (on my android phone) about these I check online via my laptop and found that the company was not one that I had ever had dealings with. My bank strongly advised (via secure phone connection) that I cancel my card and proceeded to remove the amounts from the pending section. I strongly advise OP to do the same then look to changing to another bank.
