Well at least hopefully those Tomato customers who've been reading this have had the chance to make the jump ahead of the axe falling and so won't get caught up in the SOLR situation.

Now we get to see how a SoLR process with mainly ToU tariff customers will work...
I'd say that BG as the SoLR would be the worst possible outcome and probably Octopus as the best, but who knows at this point.
This one certainly feels like a poisoned chalice for any prospective SoLR thinking of bidding.

Glad I discovered Tomato from this thread and enjoyed being a customer for almost a year, first time on ToU and it was interesting to see how and where I could make savings.

Glad I switched when I did last month though. Final bill arrived yesterday and it all looks correct which is excellent timing. DD is due out on the 11th, wonder if it will still happen.  At least I do have a bill in hand so I know how much I owe.

Farouk speaks - slightly less bullish. Though what 'we will resume Tomatopia (or a derivative of it) soon' means is anyone's guess. Not sure that's in his gift...

I tried their demo, put in my postcode, selected my address, and I got a popup stating they had found 5 meters at my address (all within the same postcode) and to select one of those 5 addresses listed. None of them were my address.

I can see now why they ended up in such a mess.

I particularly enjoyed "We will sort it all out as part of the SOLR process" - umm, no matey, you will have nothing to do with the SOLR process, having proved yourselves to be unfit to have any involvement at all!

Was it really the software platform that sank them, or the fact that they were determined to gain customers at any cost and so sold energy at rates that simply can't have been sustainable - before realising that a lot of the customers they had attracted as a result didn't have meter types they could cope with!  From the outside looking in it just feels like people wanting to play at running a business, but not having half the expertise they needed.

Let's hope Companies House prevents some individuals from being Company officials in the future. I have sympathy for all customers should BG be appointed as SOLR

Sadly for both the business and the consumer worlds, it’s all too easy for the directors of failed companies to ditch all the debt and start all over again with another company. Very often, indeed, the same company - minus its debt of course.
