For those who are being billed correctly and up to date what is the worst that could happen if Tomato go SOLR?

Getting moved to BG or anyone else that doesn't understand HH ToU tariffs...
Would just be for as long as it takes to complete the transfer in and to escape with a switch out.

I also weighed the CEO factor into my decision. Bit of a maverick, unpredictable. All data collection and billing infrastructure is outsourced to another of his companies. So what if he decides to take TE out with a bang when the jig is up. Terminates the agreement with Senapt and purges the data in MyWatts. I would definitely be archiving copies of all bills and consumption data just in case.
I've been burned by the above before - in the financial services rather than energy sector. It was incredibly messy.

So nothing really changes, all it says no new customers any time soon?
Elecon could kick them out of the market, which would precipitate their failure.

They could. But they haven't, and there's a reason for that - they have some hope.

For an existing customer - nothing really changes.
I think I can live with that. If things do get sorted out I was always open to rejoining for some substantial winter savings. However, this now seems vanishingly unlikely.
The only things that fail in this thread are predictions when tomato will shut down. We've seen some many of them - most notable Easter a month ago. Same as exaggerating SOLR.

None of that is based on any recent examples.
Take a look at outmarket the fox, they've been banned for 2 years till they were allowed to get more customers on board.
Take a look at Rebels SOLR process - all smooth.

Of course, if they follow the trajectory of Outfox and stay banned for 2 years,

Should have checked the 2 year figure before repeating it. If TE follows that trajectory, then it might take until the end of the year before they run out of road.

Definitely possible, Octopus did it to me, all my gas history gone before I migrated back, and also electric as well now.  So if Octopus can do it, TE can do it.  Its prudent to keep records, and also to use multiple providers for collecting the smart data so is redundancy of data.

It's annoying that Octopus wipe your historic consumption data after you receive your final bill and the account is settled, but they retain your meter reading history and past bills. Obviously much more than an annoyance if data is purged before an account is settled.

    From Farouk Alhassan on Facebook.
Its been a very long last couple of months... Its been extremely hectic. Its been tiring. Its been exhaustive. Its been draining.

But we march on. As we have grown into a mainstream supplier at the worst of times, our real drive is being tested.

Can you guys really do this. People are wondering. People are circumspect. Some people cannot feel the path forward.

But from where we stand, nothing has changed. These are the same pressures we have always faced. The pressures of building a business in a highly regulated market and hoping to really disrupt an entire market out of its doldrums.

We are not here to quit! We are not here to give up. We are here to take our stand and defend our business idea and proposition to the last man standing. We can't let our competitors, the regulators, the wolves who pretend to be on our side, the dogma of the existing "arrangements" derail us.
Nobody said it will be easy and we knew that before we went down this route.

What doesn't kill us will only make us stronger! The problems we have are the fires that will harden us like steel out of the furnace.

To all the people who have stood by us all this while, we are supremely grateful. We do not want you to feel like anything is going down. The Elexon notification just says we can't take on any new customers, but we haven't taken new customers for a while so its a bit of a moot point.

We have improved massively this year. Far more people being billed. We have now released full support for customers who sell energy to the grid. We have fixed lots of SMETS1 metering issues. We are progressively getting better. Stand with us.

    We will win!!!
