Tesco Advert Torture

thriftytracey said:I've been watching quite a lot of ITVX recently and they have the SAME adverts at every commercial break including the Tesco Clubcard one (I've got the Power). Now I quite like the song but seeing the same advert at every commercial break (and there are quite a few in the ITVX series), is like torture.
But what I find most infuriating is that there are 4 checkouts shown in the advert which is just not the case in reality. Our very large Tesco is 90% self scan or scan.
Seeing that advert OVER and OVER AGAIN certainly makes me loathe Tesco (I do shop there but only for a few items I can't get at Lidl).
The other ones that really annoy me are the Flash adverts (for the various cleaning products).....who on earth mops and dusts like that?? And the jingle, oh my the jingle....it is the most annoying ever!
I would never, ever buy a Flash product because of these ads1 -

Does anyone else hate the Haribo ads. where the adults have children's voices? They seem a bit creepy to me.
Also the ads set in toilets, especially when I am eating. If you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.3 -

Plus we are supposed to get on with dying so our children and or a charity can get our money. It makes you feel very unwanted.
Oh goodness yes! Not to mention the various Numan ads (erectile disfunction, hair loss, etc) followed usually by an explosion of charity adds involving overworked donkeys, distressed baby bears, emaciated dogs, poor wee children with hair lips, etc, etc.... the joys of daytime TV

I find the new RSPCA cartoon format advert pretty distressing so I guess it is effective!1

You can fast fwd the ads on ITV X0

The ones that irritate me most are those who say fink instead of think and fought instead of thought.😃0

Perhaps the many charities who advertise on TV should be informed that the word "help" is not a synonym for "money"If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0

I take solace in the fact that these adverts (Youtube as well) simply create a very deep antagonism in me towards the advertisers.
So deep in fact that I will never buy their products or use their services.
I'd have thought the advertisers would be concerned about alienating potential customers, but perhaps they don't care?0
