Tesco Advert Torture

I've been watching quite a lot of ITVX recently and they have the SAME adverts at every commercial break including the Tesco Clubcard one (I've got the Power).  Now I quite like the song but seeing the same advert at every commercial break (and there are quite a few in the ITVX series), is like torture.

But what I find most infuriating is that there are 4 checkouts shown in the advert which is just not the case in reality.  Our very large Tesco is 90% self scan or scan.

Seeing that advert OVER and OVER AGAIN certainly makes me loathe Tesco (I do shop there but only for a few items I can't get at Lidl).

Totally agree, it’s been winding me up something chronic today. Wouldn’t be so bad once or twice. It would be nice to see more tills open again for those that need them.

One advantage of watching BBC/iplayer - no annoying adverts.
The ones that annoy me in the day are all the ones on Sky/Itv 3 etc for burial plots/ cremations costs. So many of them !

With Tesco checkouts it seems a bit variable, as our nearest Tesco is not a huge one ( an expanded Tesco Metro) but there are usually around 4 checkouts open. It varies quite a bit between two - which brings queues, or six when some are twiddling their thumbs.
Could be because the self checkout area is not that big ( 8?)

I guess we all have our favourite or most annoying adverts - how about the patronising over-50s insurance ones for the latter category.

At least the On the Beach family seems to have disappeared from our screens; maybe they were denied boarding for their return flight.

Our ‘local’ Tesco ( 38 miles away) usually has about 8 manned tills and 4 self service. I’ve never had to queue more than a few minutes. 

I was there yesterday. Just one person in front of me. 

Mostly we get deliveries due to the distance.

Almost all adverts irritate me.
The rap ones - lucozade etc
The ones that don't tell you what they're advertising until 2 seconds before the end.
The cheap cremation/funeral ones - sure, she saved a lot of money by having a cheap service but one guy had to buy a red suit to attend the send-off.

I get fed up with the ones aimed at older people basically telling us to hurry up and die and make sure we get taken away in a van without ceremony to avoid causing our children any problems or costing too much. Plus we are supposed to get on with dying so our children and or a charity can get our money. 

It makes you feel very unwanted. 

However I’m glad to see the On the Beach advert appears to have disappeared, for ages I was convinced it was a spoof from a rival company showing you what sort of people travelled withOTB so you could avoid them. The anti company message is starting to creep in with the AA ads now, if you are completely stupid or a criminal, then make sure you have AA membership- I’m sure that’s produced by the RAC!
