I'm pleased you're feeling better Round.I can't remember if my mother had a pinny but I think she might have. I have a long cotton 'butcher's' apron that has a loop that goes over your head and it ties at the back. I use it if I'm cooking or baking something that might splatter or otherwise cause a mess. A has one of those wipeable ones with an advert for Coleman's mustard on the front. He wears it when he has his meals (unless we have guests in which case we all have napkins) as he tends to drop things now.I seem to have been busy all day but have achieved little on the flying front. Just after 9 I went out to the bakery for our weekend pastries. The car was parked under a large tree (it's hard to avoid them here) and judging by the state of it you would have thought that I'd put a sign on it saying 'Avian lavatory - Open' I rang our friend who cleaned it earlier in the week and who was going to fit the new wiper blade and asked if he would also give it another jet wash on the affected parts and he said he would.I then drove to the large shopping centre as they have a M&S with a large food hall. There is also a Waitrose and although I didn't need to go to Waitrose as I had a delivery coming I went in without thinking. As I was in there I bought a few bits and then went to M&S. The car park there is normally very busy but there were hardly any cars there today - I suppose many people are away on holiday. After that I went and filled up with petrol and came back and made us a coffee to have with a pain-au-chocolat. I then popped to the post office to pay the gas bill (for some reason A won't pay it online or set up a DD, even though the electricity is paid by DD). The Waitrose delivery then came which I put away and before I knew it, it was time to prepare lunch. I then WUPA the lunch things and A's breakfast things. The wiper blade then arrived and I drove to our friend and he cleaned the car and fitted the wiper blade whilst I went in and chatted to his mother.Once the car was sorted out I came back, made tea and then the laundry came back, which I put away. I was going to clean the kitchen but it's 5 o'clock now so it will have to make do with a S&S and I will try again tomorrow.7

Hi all
Glad you are feeling better Round. I have a blue stripy apron that I try to remember to put on when I am cooking something messy.
Not a bad day, went to a big garden centre about an hour away because DH wanted plants for a job he is doing. Called at Li@l on the way home. Felt a bit anxious but not terrible.
It's our wedding anniversary so we had a Chinese takeaway for tea. Planning on doing a little Flying tomorrow.

Morning all. Happy belated anniversary YSL.
I have come to the conclusion that I'm much better off doing wordle and connections later in the day when I'm properly awake. Got wordle this morning in four but only two lines on connections.
Up early as I'm at a village event all day. I have done dailies, watered back garden, prepped house for DGD2 arriving tonight and walked Poppet. Two wash loads, one of which is already on line.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.6 -
Morning all xx
I had to come down and take parrots at 1.30am. But then I slept through til 8.25am. Woke up wanting a Henry hoover. Think I might treat myself to one for my birthday. I blame the lady with the pinnies: she had an empty Henry box in her hotspot. Subliminal influences! Thoughts on Henry's performance please flyladies 🤓
I brought the laundry hamper down and set a load swishing. Left out the jeans - in case the dye runs - and so only one load as I've not bothered much with clothes this week. Jeans can wait til next week.
Supped a brew but still can't taste it. Sigh. Is a brew a brew if you can't taste it?
Thankyou all for your contribution towards the pinny / apron research. I appreciate your acceptance of my randomness. 😘
Have a good day
Rxx
Oops forgot to say. Completed Wordle in 4 and completed Connections but lost two lives doing so 🤦♀️IT ONLY TAKES SMALL DAILY ACTIONSFOR MAGIC TO HAPPENRosemary Ikpeme6 -
Good morning 😁
I have made a cuppa & put the beef in the SC for dinner later. Wordle done in 4 but failed at connections 😕 I am having a lazy morning, as it's Sunday. I should probably think about getting up!
Round I am glad you are feeling better
YL & Mr YL happy anniversary for yesterday
Yesterday I did parkrun (slowly!), 1 load of washing and a few hours at the allotment. No visits from patronising allotment neighbours, so nice and relaxing.
DH & I went out for something to eat later, so no washing up 👍
Today we have the family round for dinner, so I ought to get up & buy some veggies!
We will also pop in to the allotment annual summer show, and may partake of some cake!
Have a good day everyone x7 -
morning all
went here last night to see Fleetwood Bac who are well worth seeing. Got seats and avoided drips from the roof. First concert i’ve seen there.
Totally failed on Connections…kept getting one away. Those sweets stymied me I think.

Afternoon all.
I blame Round’s latest piece of research - yesterday I dug out my apron from its hiding place. Much needed as I was faffing with beetroot, and of course stayed pristine clean as I was wearing said apron. Beetroot burgers and a chocolate beetroot cake made. Today it has been the turn of the courgette and spinach harvest. Apron out, pesto made and veggie rolls prepped. I am planning on making quiche and pizza later - courgette based fillings, naturally!
Pollybear - you stirred up some memories there! I remember my mum had a decidedly 1970’s brown/orange MnS kitchen range, placemats and the like. Then progressed to one that I think was called Harvest, with blackberries on it, from memory.
Off to DSiL’s birthday bash next weekend. At Easter I bought the material to make a dress for the occasion. Guess what - the material has not yet seen the light of day. I may just have left it a little late…6
