So it seems that I didn’t join in when the new thread took off. Or any day since. The intention was there, but the memory obviously wasn’t…
So, in no particular order…well done to Mr YL. GWS wishes to Round. My waggy finger is heading in your direction. Behave, rest, keep hydrated and take the parrots. Glad the cats are home, Kaz.
Sorry if I have missed anyone, so a general hug all round.
I would like to say that I have been flying, but beyond loading the wm and folding clean washing, cooking a meal when I’ve got in from work and making sure the kitchen is tidy before I fall into bed, I actually haven’t.On the plus side, it definitley verging on the early autumnal side when I leave in the morning, which makes me happy for the thought of my new year. New year, new notebook, if you follow me 😊 - you know you are nodding in agreement, Round.
We are taking a friend out as his birthday treat this evening. As it’s on a school night, I will be driving. It won’t be a late one. And tomorrow it is Fri-yay. Thank goodness. I am quite done with this week.6 -
Round, hope you're feeling better soon.I always have amaretti in because every day I have a bowl of grape nuts and I crumble two amaretti in instead of adding sugar. When I placed a Waitrose order last time I couldn't find the ones I normally get but then I discovered them, same brand and exactly the same ingredients but with re-designed packaging - and 150g instead of 250g and advertised as a 'new line'. This was to disguise the fact that the price had come down but by a lower percentage so they are now, in effect, 25% more expensive. I though inflation was supposed to be 2% now.One of our friends is having some work done in her flat, which is causing her a lot of stress and she has also hurt her back so her daughter arranged for her to go into a care home whilst the work is being done. We went there to have lunch with her and her daughter and another friend and it's a very fancy place and is costing a fortune but the service was terrible. It took us about 2 hours to have two courses and we were the only people eating. I've noticed for a while that our friend's memory has been deteriorating she has severe word-finding difficulties but she was definitely worse today, which made me sad. Hopefully it's just the stress of the work in her flat and having to move out and when she goes back she will improve. The only flying I've done done is iron a couple of things for A.7

Hi all
Thanks for the kind words all, so happy for DH.
Round DS says lots of people have Covid where he works, not that it matters whether it's that or regular flu, both can made you feel awful. Get well soon x
Lovely afternoon shopping with Mum. I have also had an hour clearing out my wardrobe a bit because it's getting to the point where I can't get all my clothes put away. I need to go into the office tomorrow, I usually WFH Friday, then I have a zoom appointment with my CBT therapist. Might cycle to work.
I need to catch up on the Flying.7 -
No more flying since my last post but I did another work shift, lost a tennis match and have just been sent pics of newly arrived DGD3. So excited, I just had to tell you all!Spend less now, work less later.9

Congratulations Jazee
Glad you're feeling better, Valli x
Hope you'll soon be up and at 'em, round - but not too soon, please: relapses are not uncommon if you try to do too much too soon
It's always lovely to see you at whatever point in the week you are able to drop in, Fayollex
So today I
- cooked bacon and eggs for breakfast so that DGS1&2 had plenty to keep them going
- made them a packed lunch too
- did WMx3 (bedding) and hung it outside
- finished decorating the cake for DD&Co and hoped the boys wouldn't get lost anywhere and have to eat it before they reached home
- saw them off from the local station an hour earlier than I had expected (DGS2 has a dental appointment this evening and had forgotten to tell me that they needed to leave on the earlier train)
- followed their progress on WA and cheered them on for the next hour whilst DD was hard at work, presenting a webinar for 1,000 people, no less
- brought in the 2 single duvet covers
- received a photo of DD cradling the cake, so obviously the boys got home safely too. I'm now wondering if she and the boys left any for DS-i-L
- went to the local branch of my new bank and got them to set up the app for me - easy peasy
- finally managed to coordinate my visits to the haberdashery/wool shop with their opening times, to buy the new zip for DH's jacket
- fell asleep after a leftovers lunch (not much!) and woke up just in time to get to my 90yo friend's house just after the appointed time for a cuppa; talked with her for 2 hours - and she would have happily talked for another 2, but I had to leave for my...
- appointment with the chiropodist, by which time it was pouring with rain, so the undersheets and DH's duvet cover which I'd left blowing on the whirligig were at the mercy of DH's very slow thinking. Yes, they had got wet again by the time he realised that they were there and brought them in. Fortunately he put everything in the TD; unfortunately he used the cotton settings which isn't very good for polycotton pillowcases, but hey-ho! - it's the thought that counts.
- called at MrAl on my way home for a few bits to tide us over the weekend
- cooked tea (including more leftovers)
- remade DH's bed
- decided that was quite enough for today.
Now I *am* going to watch WDYTYA.
See you all tomorrow xxx7 -
Congratulations Jazee xx
I put my fleece on over my nightie and put out the recycling, filled the birdbath and the hedgehog's dish, and watered the hanging basket.

Congratulations Jayzee.@ionafan "so the undersheets and DH's duvet cover which I'd left blowing on the whirligig were at the mercy of DH's very slow thinking." really made me laugh.Made supper and washed up, did a Waitrose order, booked a laundry collection and ordered a new wiper blade for the car. One of them isn't wiping properly and although it's not a big deal, the car is going in for an MOT next week and it would be really annoying if it failed because of that. I've no idea how to fit a wiper blade (I can drive the car, put petrol in and that's about it. Oh, and last year I learned how to put put screen wash in so if I live to 150 I might be changing tyres.
) A friend's son likes helping the old folk
so he's said he'll do it once it's arrived.
I've put out A's breakfast things and medications and am now about to clean my teeth and think about going to bed. I'd really like to have an earlyish night for once. I've been very de-motivated recently but must pull myself together and do some serious flying. We need to have someone coming for lunch really - that would get me going.

Congratulations Jazee 😊 We have a few more weeks to wait for ours!
Round I hope you are feeling better & taking it easy. DH has recently got over covid - he said the headache was the worst.
Congrats to Mr YL on the job
Paid stuff today - picnic at the small local zoo with a friend & 5 children 4 & under. Then another picnic this evening at the beach with my WI friends - it was blowing a hoolie & freezing!
Flying wise - WM x1, toys picked up & garden watered - not much else!
Must try harder tomorrow.....
Sleep well everyone!8 -
Congratulations Jazee.
Hope you feel better soon Round. Mr N had flu-like symptoms last week, he did 2 covid tests and both were negative. He's feeling a bit better now but tired.
I had a welcome email this morning that Mum has her ground floor room with patio doors in her chosen care home. They've assessed her as level 2 care which is ouch ££ but they will reassess as she settles as there is scope for improvement and most people seem to think the nicer, more stimulating environment will help a great deal - so the cost may come down. She will be moving on Monday, so Mr N and I can have another day at home (we were poised to pack and leave this evening in case of an early move). We can start moving 'extras' like her own furniture, ornaments etc straight away so Mr N and I will do that on Sunday. We'll do it gradually, just taking what makes it more home-like then wait until she expresses a need for any particular items. Oddly, there is a huge walk-in wardrobe, 2 large cupboards in the wet room and both a cupboard and drawers in the kitchenette area - but nothing I would identify as a good place to keep undies and t-shirts......under the sink? There is a small cupboard in the bedside table, and a drawer under the TV stand. I'm sure we will work it out anyway.
Today I wasn't very lively, in between making Mum plans.
- went to Pilates
- one load through DW
- went to Mr T
- did a bit of shrub pruning
- made a large chilli for this evening and tomorrow
- finally got my correct (although lower than I'd expected) pension quote from uni, so I have signed and scanned in the forms. It has taken 14months for them to get it right, and I have put in a huge amount of time chasing them, all for less than £1000 pa.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.8 -
Today I'll delegate some jobs to DD or I'll not get much done
Going to other house today as have someone coming to re-home fish from pond, bringing some washing back to wash and dry for clothing bank and some folders so I can organise paperwork a little and make it less messy here now I've done all phonecalls I can think of
Been a hard week so deffo takeaway and wine tonight for me7
