    ‘Tech Issues’
None more than being caught up in Raptor Lake+NVidia concerns.
I was impatient returning 13700k inside a few weeks.
Impatience and Gaming PCs is never a good mix.

Reviewing info since seems Intel Later microcode was early 2025.
They released a temporary fix, then the full fix is due in June I believe. The temporary fix is not really a proper fix, it limits power the chip can draw with a slight loss of performance, but it means the chips will not be damaged. That said most users will not get the chips running high enough to do any damage, they need to be hammered on productivity workloads, not gaming, to get them to draw enough power for long enough to cause damage.

Intel chosen Chip, v AMD ‘Fastest’ fps chips.
The AMD X3D chips wipe the floor with Intel in gaming whilst usually using less than half the power.
    Dandytf said:
Only planning minor upgrades and past any ‘fastest fps’ requirements.
That chip will probably good for mid-high gaming for 2-3 years dropping down the levels as time goes on, but no chip is going to sit at the top end for very long, even more so when it is not at the top end to begin with. I have a 9800X3D, that is the best gaming chip around at the moment and means I am never CPU limited, but I it to only be the best until the 10800X3D is released, though I would not expect to be CPU limited in gaming until the the RTX 6090 or even 7090 are released.

DLSS /MFG hoping to try those with a stable vid sig via soundbar/oled, prob much of a return priority in addition to early Microcodes.
There are no problems with OLED displays as a technology in relation to FPS, the issue with the soundbar is that you are using it as a passthrough and it does not support HDMI 2.1 in passthrough, so you loose VRR (which the OLED has), introduce lag from input to display and various other issues. The RTX 5070Ti is a fully HDMI 2.1 compatible card, but you are downgrading it by feeding the signal through a soundbar.

t.b.f. Microsoft were in midst of Win11 updates, thankfully I’m looking forward to ruling out any hdmi/soundbar concerns.
There are always Windows updates, they rarely make any substantive difference although there were a few related to the Intel microcode issue that did, all one needed to do was roll back an update. Again, the soundbar is the issue.

Only ordered 265k when some reasonable FP’s examples were seen via YouTube.
I have immediate upgrade as mistakenly ordered 16gb ddr5 vers, should have been 32gb.
32GB would be better, but with a 265k and a 5070Ti for gaming it will probably make little difference, although for the extra £50 it would almost certainly be worth it, providing that you go with 2x16GB sticks, 4x8GB sticks will halve the RAM speed.

Never got try this 8/10/24 workaround….

When you use your OLED check under Windows "Display settings" that Windows is indeed recognizing your OLED tv and then change to the correct frequency ie 120hz.

When you play on pc and OLED tv make sure you follow my other options its also very important:

Settings on PC with the NEW cable:

    - Enable HDR in windows.- Enable VRR in TV settings- Turn off ECO mode and Demo mode in TV settings- Turn off "Tv turn off after set amount of time".- Use the "change resolution" in windows and USE the PC resolution to your native resolution of the TV. Important! Use PC resolution. On Windows options you have TV res and below that you have PC res CHOOSE PC res not TV res. Then click OK and APPLY (=save)Use the highest "bit color" ie 12bit in NVIDIA Control panel color settings. This is also important 12 bit color."adjust desktop color settings" option in NVIDIA control panel under "change resolution" i believe, you see an option "Content type reported to the display'' --

Intended as GPU Black Screen workaround, also my 13700k via Win11 was caught with loss of HDR , I think MS Win update fixed that.

As long as the cable is HDMI 2.1 compliant it will work fine, your new PC will come with an HDMI 2.1 compliant cable, you do not need to pay silly money for the "8k cables", there is no such thing as an 8k spec for HDMI cables, there is an HDMI version number and as long as it is HDMI 2.1 it will be fine.

I am not sure where you have copied that information from, bust most of is is waffle, you should not have issues if you connect the GPU directly to the TV and W11 and the Nvidia app will sort that stuff out automatically. You will however have issues if you keep using the soundbar as a passthrough.

Finally before latest pc is ready, I’m tempted to enable xmp If it helps boost 5200 hz DDR5 speed.
XMP will almost certainly be enabled in a build from 3XS, but please, please, please, do not start messing with RAM timings, you have demonstrated you do not understand enough to start messing with settings which will potentially impact system stability.

It Is possible that went towards Omen Case becoming steamed up!
No, it is not! The only reason a PC case would steam up is because you are pumping hot damp air into a cold case, that means that A, your home is far too damp and B, somehow your PC case is cold (not cooled, for the components, but cold in relation to the ambient temperature). Considering how much heat a 13th/14th gen Intel generate, together with a 4070 that is a very odd situation, but nothing to do with the PC itself.

Thanks 9850x is rec’ decent reviews!
Panny oled does have Variable Refresh Rate, I did wonder last year Why Series S/Series X/Ps5 worked flawlessly via oled/soundbar @120hz
    Guess NVidia eventually fixed that.
Ddr5 is to be via 2 slots only unless I call Scan as I could be 2z8gb down if self upgrading.
Seems I’ve chosen mid level cpu/mid 3sx build, I’ll consider new MB next year if req,
This config seems to be somewhat old school Asus Prime pci-e4 not 5 Wi-Fi 6 not 7 No Thunderbolt, MB has optical connector, yet No Spdif mentioned.
Also additional ssd to add to 1tb
Xmp was manually enabled via Omen bios -coincidence then with immaculate case steaming up.
is my DQ Strg Heater too warm for pc.
That waffle most of which I recognise certainly from Win 11 settings which I played with during intermittent black scree, copied info is harmless.
Some decent 3sx Cooling products via co pilot.

    ’25 and later upgrades req,
1, Prob 32gb ddr5 -possibly rgb which Omen had 64gb of.
    2. Ssd prob add 2nd m.2 to 1tb
    3.  Additional cooling t.b.c.
    4. Hope usb to Spdif Isn’t needed though t.b.c.after using HDMI audio,
    5. Decent small Keyboard/Mouse, last using keys to go type combo- nuisance to pair, intermittent Omen
Maybe a top panel port fault similar to-
    • 1 x HD Audio
    • 1 x LED Control Button
    • 1 x Mic In
    • 1 x Power Button
    • 2 x USB 3.0

    @MattMattMattUK

Is there anyway to avoid new pc steaming up, as I plan to use in living-room where Omen steamed up 1-2 days.
Damp is No concern in my flat and I arranged last year’s Flooring.
I plan ddr5 asap as this purchase is very fast via Scan albeit without order details being rec’
Ide think Scan 3sx would have decent Cooling from new, though can add fans soon.

It's really quite a mystery how a PC that generates heat and presumably remains above ambient temperature 'steams up'. I've never experienced anything like that in all my 30 years of PC use.

Do you have some kind of zen-like atomising misting device chucking out a fog like a top of the pops set or something?

HP Omen was amazing Visually though Tempered Black Glass inc’ quick release button.
The Glass seriously steamed up in 1-2 days almost making rgb ddr5 x4=64gb  non viewable.
Maybe it is Dimplex Quantum -the stored heat exists from Front Bottom of heater or maybe Double Glazed Window small flaps open at top,
The Case was immaculate new, though unclear effect did coincide when I played with Omen Overclocking software included in build.

    thanks

Do not ask Co-Pilot about PC cooling.

I really do not see the point of buying something then planning on upgrading it straight away, or even within a year or two, it will cost you far more in the long run.
1.32GB of RAM is more than enough for gaming, RGB is a waste of money and generates more heat.
2.Are you saying you have only speced in 512GB initially? That is too low. When you stick a second M.2 for for at least 1TB, preferably 2TB and make sure you do not stick it in one of the sockets that then bifuricates the GPU PCIe lanes.
3.Why additional cooling? The PC from 3XS will be totally fine, it does not need more cooling
4.I am not actually sure what you are trying to achieve there.
5.Just go with something reasonable, no need to get anything expensive.

I agree with Booner, I cannot see why it would steam up, the only time I have ever known this happen is when a water cooler has leaked, but even then it should be minimal because the fans will vent all the moisture out of the case.
Just to reiterate, it will have shipped with enough fans, probably too many fans, you do not need to add more!
