Hi there
We had a similar problem when friends visited... they go up early and let the their little ones stand all over the new leather sofa and then let her loose with crayons in the living room (when at home they are only allowed in the kitchen) where she got it all over the coffee table... ours is raw pine so i tried a "flash eraser" it left a small mark but it "aged out"... but i would try it on the underside first just in case....
Hope you can get it sorted... it so upsetting when you finally get something nice, only for others to miss treat it isn't it...-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
Oh dear what a horrid thing to happen. Be very careful with nail polish remover it can take the colour out of items. I spilt some on a toilet seat and now I have a strange mark on there. Baby wipes are pretty good as they are surprisingly strong. We have had biro on our leather sofa and the wipes worked. Stardrops is brill too but this can be quite strong. I know that this sounds strange but spit/saliva is quite acidic and this also worked on the leather sofa especially when worked with a microfibre cloth with the grain and not against it
Good luckGrocery spends £193.44/ £70 per week or £303 per month0 -
Since my last post i've tried baby wipes, hairspray, warm water and fairy liquid and still no luck.
I'm giving up for tonight and i'll visit the shops in the morning.
Thanks again for all your help0 -

In order to put your mind at ease, just after I made my last post, I scribbled red biro on the back of one of my wooden varnished chairs with a red biro and left it for an hour. I've just taken off the red pen with nail polish remover - no problem. The scribble indentations are still visible on the chair but it's not too obvious and there's not a jot of ink in sight.
So nail polish remover will definitely take it off. You might only have a problem if the children scored the wood by pressing down hard with the pens.0 -
Alcohol like vodka might take it off.
I've a lovely coffee table cost a fortune and kids drew all over it but babywipes seem to work, but if you have alcohol lift over from christmas it might be worth a shot.Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough. And things go wrong no matter what I do.Now and then it seems that life is just too much. But you've got the love I need to see me through.:j :j0 -
Good luck Kippers - hope you get it sorted tomorrow!;)Do what you love :happyhear0

I second that - the JML magic erasers are brilliant. I think I got mine from Focus but you can also get them in Woolworths.
Hope you have better luck tomorrow. It's better to beg forgiveness than ask permission.0 -

Well done you for trying it out!! I would press your thanks button 100 times if it would let me! :T0 -
Personally I would call a professional and ask their advice.
I definately would NOT use nail polish remover as this will damage the polish and you could end up with a nastier mark than the one you started with.
Poor you. You have my every sympathy - other people's kids really are the pits sometimes0
