hi folks!!
I had my share of frustration.but lo behold a quick casual call to cancell my a4 folder that arrived a month later led to the sweet lady asking me will i keep if a free gift is offered!!
I ws offered a digi cam or cdplayer after being explained that home system is withdrwn.wait and see

I got bored with Staples yesterday and telephoned my credit card company. I explained I had been charged for goods I had never received and that it was impossible to communicate with the company. They have credited my account and presumably done a chargeback to Staples.

are we saying that nothing is turning up, i have been told that a 30p pen is out of stock ??? and they have it on back order !

you did not get the speakers becouse they had the wrong plug on them
........ and we made a £200 + order as well.

Just get a damn refund...it isn't worth the bloody hassle. Poor company with poor service. DO NOT BUY FROM STAPLES AGAIN....and let it be a lesson to you!

Phoned up last saturday, got through after 5-10 mins. Explained that I'd been charged £3.75 for my pencil & had only received a welcome pack. Was told pencil out of stock, so they refunded my £3.75. I asked about the free gift, & they said they could only offer a cd player, & I had to buy something, so I ordered something else for £1.50, & they gave me free delivery because of the problem with the previous order.
RESULT! I received my free cd player & my order for £1.50 today, worth the wait, thanx josh  ;D ;D ;D

Tip for other money savers waiting for there free gift, you do need to ring them, or you'll most likely receive nothing, & be nice to the call centre person, even though you may be annoyed, you will have more chance of getting something. Good luck

Derek is right, the girls from the call centre are only doing their job and they certainly aren’t having a good time with hundreds of customers complaining that they haven’t received their free gift!!

I patiently waited 40 minutes before I got through and was told that the SS System had been discontinued but that I could choose from the CD player (which everyone is having) a digital camera or a 52 bits tool kit – I chose the camera because I reckon the CD player will be out of stock soon and I don’t want to wait another month!!

I rang them on Thursday and was told that I should receive the camera next week, hopefully. I’ll let you guys know if it’s any good...

Hi all,

I guess I'm having pretty much the same probs as you are - but I'd just like to say that in the past, Staples have been a pretty reliable company.

I used to use them & Viking all the time for my stationery and didn't have any problems.

This has all been a c@@k-up since they tried to merge neat-ideas and (iirc) Office World into their systems.

I have every confidence that they'll return to that level of service eventually - but for now I agree with the general consensus - don't touch em with a barge pole!
